Chandigarh, August 7:- Reaffirming the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh's commitment to orderly urban management and strict enforcement of regulations, MC Commissioner Sh. Amit Kumar, IAS, conducted a surprise inspection of the Vending Zone and Sadar Bazaar in Sector 19 today evening.

During the inspection, the Commissioner reviewed the area occupied by vendors within the designated vending zone and assessed compliance with the approved vending norms. He was accompanied by Joint Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Gupta along with enforcement inspectors to the spot and issued directions for ensuring effective regulation of the vending zone.

The Commissioner also inspected Sadar Bazaar, where he directed the enforcement wing to strictly adhere to the directions of the Supreme Court regarding street vending. Stressing the need for continuous vigilance, he instructed officials to intensify enforcement against illegal vending outside the notified vending zones and ensure that public roads and footpaths remain free from encroachments for the convenience and safety of citizens.
