CHANDIGARH, 21.07.26-The PGI Medical Technologist Union (PGIMTU) successfully organized a Voluntary Blood Donation Camp today at the Department of Transfusion Medicine (Blood Donation Centre), PGIMER, Chandigarh, reaffirming its commitment to social responsibility and voluntary blood donation.

The camp was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) Sanjay Jain, Dean (Academics), PGIMER, Chandigarh, who appreciated the initiative of PGIMTU and commended the Medical Technologists for their continued contribution to patient care as well as community welfare. He encouraged healthcare professionals to actively participate in voluntary blood donation, emphasizing that a single unit of blood can save several precious lives.

The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from Medical Technologists and other healthcare professionals, who voluntarily donated blood and spread the message of humanity, compassion, and selfless service.

On the occasion, representatives of PGIMTU stated that voluntary blood donation is a noble act that strengthens the healthcare system by ensuring the availability of safe blood for patients during emergencies and routine medical care. They also expressed their sincere gratitude to the Department of Transfusion Medicine, PGIMER, for its valuable support in the successful organization of the camp.

PGIMTU extended heartfelt thanks to Prof. (Dr.) Sanjay Jain, all blood donors, volunteers, and the organizing team for making the event a grand success. The Union reaffirmed its commitment to organizing more community service and health awareness initiatives in the future.
