Chandigarh, July 18:- Demonstrating its commitment to transparent and accountable enforcement, the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh today carried out a special anti-encroachment drive using the newly introduced Body-Worn Cameras by enforcement staff.
The drive was conducted at Sector 26, Sukhna Lake, Rock Garden, Naka Barrier, Sector 22 and Sector 47 to remove illegal vendors and unauthorised encroachments from public spaces.
The enforcement teams, led by Sub Inspectors equipped with body-worn cameras, ensured that the entire operation was recorded, promoting fairness, professionalism and public confidence in the enforcement process.
During the drive, enforcement officials removed illegal vending activities obstructing public movement and issued 78 challans against violators for encroaching upon public land and carrying out unauthorized vending.
The Municipal Corporation reiterated that the use of body-worn cameras has enhanced transparency and accountability during enforcement operations. It also appealed to citizens and vendors to comply with civic regulations and use only authorised vending sites to help maintain a clean, orderly and encroachment-free Chandigarh.
