One arrested in Snatching
A case FIR No. 56 u/s 304(2), 317(2) BNS has been registered at Police Station Mani Majra, Chandigarh on the complaint of Aklesh Kumar S/o Shyam Shah R/o #91 Old Indra Colony, Manimajra, Chandigarh, against Anil @ Lindi S/o Ajmer Kumar R/o Jhuggi No. 219, New Indra Colony, Mani Majra, who snatched ₹2200/- cash and Aadhaar card from the complainant near Labour Chowk, Mani Majra on 16-05-2026 . The accused has been arrested and sent to judicial custody.
Two arrested in Arms Act
A case FIR No. 59 u/s 25-54-59 Arms Act has been registered at Police Station Sector-26, Chandigarh on the complaint of ASI Ankur 1898/CHG from CBO Cell, against Aryan S/o Rinku R/o #8/84 Varyam Singh Colony, Amritsar (PB), who was apprehended near Asian Experience Club, Sector-26 and found in possession of one Beretta pistol and four live cartridges. The accused has been arrested and is in police lockup.
A case FIR No. 82 u/s 25-54-59 Arms Act has been registered at Police Station Sector-31, Chandigarh on the complaint of ASI Pawan Kumar 2096/CHG, against Rohit S/o Rajender R/o #1438 Phase-1 Ramdarbar, who was apprehended near Hathi Park, Ram Darbar and found in possession of one button-operated knife. The accused is in police lockup.
One arrested under Excise Act
A case FIR No. 72 u/s 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh , against Rahul Rana R/o #123 Raipur Khurd, Chandigarh, who was apprehended near Sukhna Choe Bridge near Makhan Majra forest area and found in possession of 5 bottles and 48 nips of Royal General country made wine. The accused was later bailed out.
Accident
A case FIR No. 64 u/s 281, 106(1) BNS has been registered at Police Station Sector-11, Chandigarh on the complaint of Mohit S/o Rajesh R/o #1340 Sector-15/B, Chandigarh, against an unknown vehicle driver, who hit the complainant’s father near Sector-15/24 dividing road on 16-05-2026 at about 10:03 PM. The victim sustained injuries and later expired during treatment at GMSH-16. No arrest has been made so far.
A case FIR No. 60 u/s 281, 125(A) BNS has been registered at Police Station Sector-26, Chandigarh on the complaint of Sahil S/o Subhash Chander R/o CSQ-46 MES Colony, Chandi Mandir Cantt, Panchkula (HR) against an unknown Scorpio driver, who hit the complainant’s car No. HR-68C-7794 near Mandi Road, Sector-26 on 16-05-2026 at about 05:25 AM. The complainant sustained injuries and was admitted to GH-16. No arrest has been made so far.

A case FIR No. 58 u/s 11(1)(1) Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960 & 325 BNS has been registered at Police Station Sector-26, Chandigarh on the complaint of Sanjay S/o Ram Bahadur R/o #222 Phase-2 BDC Sector-26, Chandigarh, against an unknown person, who threw a puppy in tandoor near Nurani Dhaba, Phase-2 BDC Sector-26 on 16-05-2026 at about 01:40 AM. No arrest has been made so far.
