Chandigarh, May 13:- To strengthen civic infrastructure and address public grievances related to sewerage and drainage issues, a comprehensive review of sewerage systems and ongoing development works in village Khuda Lahora and Khuda Alisher was conducted today by MC Chief Engineer Sh. Sanjay Arora along with Area Councillor Smt. Jaswinder Kaur and concerned officers of MCC.

The review meeting and field inspection were attended by all Superintending Engineers, concerned Executive Engineers and Sub Divisional Engineers of the Engineering Wing of the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh.

During the inspection, a detailed review was undertaken regarding issues of blockage in the sewerage system on the Khuda Lahora–Khuda Alisher road. The officers also inspected the ongoing and proposed works related to the upgradation of the Storm Water Drainage (SWD) system in village Khuda Lahora to ensure better drainage management and prevention of waterlogging during the rainy season.

The progress of paver block works being carried out in the area was also reviewed during the visit.

Chief Engineer Sanjay Arora directed all concerned officers to resolve pending public grievances and technical issues on priority basis. He instructed engineering officials to identify vulnerable locations requiring strengthening and upgradation of the existing sewerage and drainage infrastructure to ensure smooth disposal of sewerage and storm water.

Emphasizing the need for timely execution, the Chief Engineer directed that all development works be completed in a time-bound manner while strictly maintaining quality standards. He also stressed the importance of regular field monitoring and effective coordination among the concerned officers for early completion of projects and greater public convenience.

The Municipal Corporation Chandigarh reiterated its commitment towards improving civic infrastructure and ensuring better public amenities for residents through continuous monitoring and planned developmental works across the city.
