CHANDIGARH,April 29, 2026-A dedicated 30 hours Value Added Course on ‘capacity building on "Ready to Work Smart as Educators and Beyond" was organized at the Government College of Education, Sector 20-D, Chandigarh from April 24 to April 28, 2026.
The course was conceptualized and curated under the esteemed patronage of Principal Dr. Sapna Nanda , by Dr. Ravneet Chawla , Associate Professor and Coordinator Placement Cell along with student executive members, Anshuman (President, Placement Cell), Shagun Choudhary (VAC 2026, Student Coordinator), Kinshuk Gosain , Juhi Paul , Sachin Rana , Ishita , Naveen , Jatin , Ipsa and Mudita . The course was aimed to holistically prepare future educators for personal and professional success. Day 1 started with a vibrant Nati workshop organized by the Placement Cell as an icebreaker to promote cultural awareness and student bonding.
The sessions featured insightful talks by Dr. Vivek Atray , Brahmakumari Madhuri , Dr. Ravinder Kumar , and Ms. Kirandeep Loomba , focusing on purpose-driven living, environmental responsibility, positivity, and overall health and well-being. The day concluded with an enriching session on Universal Human Values by Prof. Munshi Yadav , emphasizing the role of ethics and values in education and life.
Day 2 began with an energetic volleyball match between Ace Attackers and Thunder Strikers, fostering teamwork, fitness, and healthy competition among participants. The academic sessions included Dr. Ajay Sharma’s insights on entrepreneurship, Mr. Sanjay Aggarwal’ s guidance on employability and institutional expectations, and Dr. Sabina Duggal’s engaging discussion on teaching in the digital “scroll era.” Collectively, the sessions equipped students with essential skills in innovation, professional readiness, and adapting to evolving learner behaviors.
Day 3 commenced with a refreshing nature walk, followed by Dr. Vandana Aggarwal’s interactive session encouraging students to develop clear career goals and vision. Subsequent sessions by Dr. Prabhjot Malhi and Ms. Anuradha Chawla focused on early identification of learning concerns and enhancing employability through resume building and interview skills. The day concluded with inspiring sessions by Mr. Ramnik Bansal on excellence in life and teaching, and Ms. Ipsa on career commitment, promoting reflection and peer learning.
Day 4 began with a library visit led by Ms. Khushi , emphasizing the importance of academic resources and self-directed learning. The sessions by Mrs. Indu Aggarwal and Mr. Kartik Dutta on gamification and AI in teaching, and Dr. Ravneet Chawla on “Passion and Compassion,” highlighted innovative pedagogy alongside empathy and emotional intelligence in education. The day concluded with Ms. Madhu Pandit’s session on mindful relationships, equipping students with skills for effective communication and healthy interpersonal dynamics.
The course concluded with a valedictory ceremony graced by Prof. Swairaj Singh Sandhu , who highlighted the importance of storytelling in enhancing teaching-learning processes and appreciated the role of teachers in shaping society. The Principal expressed heartfelt gratitude to all speakers and extended special appreciation to Dr. Ravneet Chawla and the Placement Cell team for successfully organizing the program. The ceremony ended with best wishes to the students for their future and encouragement to stay connected with their alma mater.
