Chandigarh, 13 March: The Department of Computer Science and Applications at Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women organised an inter-college IT Fest ‘iTech Fiesta 2026’ under the aegis of MCM Vigyan Manch. The fest was sponsored by Department of Science and Technology and Renewable Energy (DST-RE), Chandigarh, and centred on the theme ‘Shaping Tomorrow: Emerging IT Trends and the Road Ahead’.

The fest witnessed enthusiastic participation from around 160 students representing 13 colleges from Chandigarh and the surrounding region, providing a vibrant platform for students to showcase their technical creativity, analytical skills, and innovative thinking.
The programme commenced with an inaugural session graced by Dr. Anu Gupta, Professor, Department of Computer Science and Applications, Panjab University, Chandigarh, as the Chief Guest. In her address, she highlighted the growing relevance of emerging technologies and encouraged students to remain curious, innovative, and adaptable in the rapidly evolving digital landscape.

The fest featured eight technical competitions, including IT Quiz, Web Designing, Debugging, IT-based Rangoli, Movie Making, Research-based Poster Presentation, E-Waste Modelling, and E-Collage Making. The event concluded with a Cultural and Prize Distribution ceremony, where Dr. Anuj Sharma, Chairperson, Department of Computer Science and Applications, Panjab University, Chandigarh, attended as the Chief Guest. He congratulated the participants and appreciated the college for organising a meaningful platform that integrates technological learning with creativity and innovation.

Officiating Principal Ms. Neena Sharma appreciated the Department of Computer Science and Applications for successfully organising the fest and providing students with opportunities to explore emerging IT trends. She remarked that such initiatives play a crucial role in nurturing technological competence, creativity, and interdisciplinary thinking among young learners.
