Chandigarh, March 12:- In a major step towards smarter urban mobility and digital governance, the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh has rolled out an expanded “MC One Pass” parking system, offering residents attractive long-term subscription options with savings of up to 30 percent.

The initiative, in collaboration with Bank of Baroda, aims to make city parking more convenient, cashless, and economical for daily commuters.

Under the upgraded system, residents can now opt for Quarterly, Half-Yearly, and Yearly parking passes in addition to the existing monthly permit.

The new slab structure is designed to reward long-term users with significant cost benefits while eliminating the hassle of repeated cash payments at parking sites.

The facility will be available across major MC-managed parking locations including Sector 17 Plaza, Sector 22 Market, Sector 35 Market, Sukhna Lake, and the surface parking area at Elante Mall.

According to the revised pricing structure, four-wheeler owners can avail a monthly pass for ₹500, while the quarterly pass is priced at ₹1,200, reducing the effective cost to ₹400 per month. The half-yearly pass costs ₹2,200 (₹367 per month), and the yearly pass at ₹4,200 brings the cost down to just ₹350 per month—offering a total saving of nearly 30 percent. Similarly, two-wheeler users can opt for a monthly pass of ₹250, a quarterly pass of ₹600, a half-yearly pass of ₹1,100, and a yearly pass of ₹2,100, lowering the effective monthly expense to ₹175.

Highlighting the digital transformation behind the initiative, MC Commissioner Sh. Amit Kumar, IAS said the move is a key step towards a paperless, transparent and citizen-friendly parking management system. Residents can instantly register for the pass by scanning QR codes installed at parking sites or by visiting the official portals of the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh and Bank of Baroda.

With the introduction of longer-duration digital passes, the Municipal Corporation expects to reduce congestion at parking entry points, minimize cash handling, and provide a faster, seamless parking experience for thousands of commuters across the city. The “MC One Pass” initiative is also expected to strengthen Chandigarh’s vision of becoming a smart, efficient and digitally empowered city.
