Ludhiana 11 March 2026-Department of Livestock Production Management of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana organized Advanced Entrepreneurship Skill Development Programme (A-ESDP) on “Scientific Dairy Farming, Value chain addition and marketing to augment farmers income” under the aegis of MSME, New Delhi. The training programme brought together a total of 20 graduates with diversified educational backgrounds from different areas of Punjab, who are interested in starting or expanding dairy-based enterprises/ start-up/ventures.
Dr. Jatinder Paul Singh Gill, Vice-Chancellor, said that in current scenario, dairy entrepreneurship is expected to play a crucial role in ensuring food security, promoting rural development and improving the socio-economic status of farmers across the Punjab with the increasing demand for milk and milk products.
Dr. S. S. Randhawa, Dean, College of Veterinary Science during inauguration interacted with all the participants and told that these types of capacity-building / entrepreneurship development programmes help individuals to develop innovative ideas, products and services based on regional needs and market demand. Dr. R.S. Grewal, Director of Extension Education and Course Director said that University in collaboration with MSME helping in strengthening the ecosystem for micro and small businesses to promote self-reliance and sustainable entrepreneurship in the dairy sector of Punjab.
Valedictory function was chaired by Dr. Opinder Singh, Registrar, Dr. S.K. Uppal, Dean Post Graduate Studies and Dr. R.S. Sethi, Additional Director Research. Dr. Yashpal Singh, HoD, Livestock Production Management extended thanks to MSME and University authorities for providing all possible helps in organizing these types of entrepreneurship courses and appreciated the faculty, staff and the execution team of Dr. R.S. Grewal, Dr. Yashpal Singh, Dr. S.T. Singh and Dr. Suresh Kumar.
