Chandigarh, July 29: Haryana Chief Minister Sh Nayab Singh Saini said that the present government has introduced comprehensive reforms to the state's long-standing recruitment system. As a result, young people are now securing government jobs solely on the basis of their hard work, merit, and talent, without the need for political influence (parchi) or bribes (kharchi). He reaffirmed that the government has established a transparent and merit-based recruitment process, making it clear that neither political recommendations nor bribery have any place in recruitments.

The Chief Minister said that the party's manifesto for the 2024 Assembly elections pledged to provide government jobs to 200,000 youths in the state. Expressing happiness over the government's progress, he stated that 42,500 youths have secured government jobs during the past one and a half years. He further said that over the last eleven and a half years of the present government's tenure, nearly 200,000 youths have been provided government employment through a transparent and merit-based recruitment process.

Chief Minister Sh Nayab Singh Saini was addressing the gathering as the chief guest at an orientation programme for newly selected Group D employees, organized at Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Panchkula today. On the occasion, he also extended his greetings and best wishes to the people of the state on the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister symbolically handed over appointment letters to six newly selected Group D employees. He said that these appointment letters are a testament to the recipients' hard work, the sacrifices made by their parents, and their faith in a transparent and honest recruitment system. Congratulating all 3,586 youths who secured government jobs through their hard work and merit, he wished them success in their future careers and encouraged them to serve the people with dedication and integrity.

The Chief Minister recalled that there was a time when the very mention of government jobs created anxiety among ordinary families in Haryana. It was widely believed that certain families, regions, and individuals with political connections had an exclusive claim over government employment. Merit was overlooked, while political influence, bribery, nepotism, and regionalism dominated the recruitment process. He said that this system not only deprived deserving youth of opportunities but also eroded the trust of their parents and undermined the talent of Haryana's young people.

He stated that after assuming office, the present government made it clear that the future of Haryana's youth would no longer be determined by political recommendations but by hard work, merit, and talent. Today, government jobs are no longer confined to any particular region; instead, young people from every part of the state are receiving equal opportunities for employment. As a result, the confidence of the state's youth in a fair and transparent recruitment system has been strengthened.

Establishing a direct dialogue with the newly recruited employees, the Chief Minister said that they should not view themselves merely as Group D employees but as members of the government's "Good Governance Delivery Team." He emphasized that government service is not only a means of earning a livelihood but also a responsibility to serve the public. He urged them to keep the poorest and most vulnerable person in mind while performing their duties and making decisions, and to consider how their actions would affect that individual's life. He said this principle should guide not only policymakers but every government employee.
The Chief Minister called upon the newly recruited employees to pledge that they would listen patiently to every citizen visiting their offices, treat them with dignity and respect, and ensure that people are not required to make repeated visits to obtain services. He stressed that rules are meant to facilitate public service, not to inconvenience or harass citizens.

Expressing confidence in the new recruits, he said that just as they had secured their appointments without political recommendations or bribes (parchi-kharchi), they would continue to uphold the integrity, transparency, and credibility of the system throughout their service.

Taking a dig at the opposition parties, the Chief Minister said that everyone is aware of how, under previous governments, young people were allegedly exploited by contractors. He said the present government recognized the challenges faced by the youth and, to protect them from exploitation, established a dedicated corporation and enacted legislation to safeguard their interests and secure their future.

The Chief Minister further stated that the Department of Foreign Cooperation has been established to facilitate overseas education and employment opportunities for the state's youth. Under this initiative, 210 youths from Haryana have been sent to Dubai, while 390 youths have been sent to Israel in two phases for employment. He added that efforts are also underway to facilitate opportunities for young people in countries such as Japan, Oman, Germany, and Canada. To protect youth from the dangers of illegal migration through the "donkey route," he said the government has enacted stringent laws to curb the activities of unscrupulous agents and prevent exploitation.

Sh Nayab Singh Saini emphasized that, for the present government, the integrity of examinations and recruitment is not merely an administrative issue but a matter of safeguarding the future of the youth and preserving their trust in the system. Referring to allegations of irregularities in the NEET-UG examination, he said that the Central Government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi, ordered a comprehensive investigation instead of suppressing the matter.

The Chief Minister said that a high-level committee of experts was constituted to recommend reforms to the examination system, thereby advancing the process of examination reforms at the national level. He added that the Public Examinations Act, 2026, provides for stringent penalties against those involved in organized examination-related offences, including imprisonment of up to 10 years and a minimum fine of Rs 10 crore. He further stated that a decision has been taken to establish fast-track courts to ensure the speedy disposal of paper leak cases and the prompt and stringent punishment of those found guilty. The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi's message is unequivocal; any attempt by examination mafias to undermine the hard work of students through malpractice or interference with the examination process will not be tolerated.

Criticizing the opposition over the protests held in Delhi, the Chief Minister accused them of misleading the youth and leading them astray. He said that Haryana and Punjab stand as examples of how the Congress party and its allies have, exploited young people for political purposes. He further alleged that the present Punjab government is jeopardizing the future of the state's youth.

Their teachings inspire the younger generation, while such commemorative events also acquaint them with the lives, values and contributions of these eminent personalities, helping them remain connected with the country's culture, traditions and moral values, he said.

The Cabinet Minister was addressing the gathering as the Chief Guest at the Guru Daksh Prajapati Jayanti celebration organised by the Prajapati Samaj at the Guru Daksh Prajapati Dharamshala in Kurukshetra on Wednesday.

Chandigarh, July 29- Haryana Social Justice, Empowerment, Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes Welfare and Antyodaya (SEWA) Minister, Sh. Krishan Bedi, said that the Haryana Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, has decided to celebrate the 650th birth anniversary of Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj across the State grandly and historically through a Social Harmony Kalash Yatra.

Under this statewide initiative, sacred soil from Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj's birthplace at Seer Govardhanpur in Varanasi (Kashi) will be brought to Haryana and ceremonially installed in temples across villages and cities across the State to spread the message of social harmony and brotherhood.

Addressing a press conference at Yamunanagar on Wednesday, the Minister said Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj showed society the path of equality, social harmony and freedom from discrimination. To mark his 650th Prakash Parv, a special Haryana delegation comprising Ministers, Members of the Legislative Assembly and leaders of the BJP Scheduled Caste Morcha will bring the sacred Kalash containing holy soil from his birthplace at Seer Govardhanpur, Varanasi.

He said the sacred Kalash will be installed with due religious sanctity at Shri Sheetla Mata Temple, Gurugram. Thereafter, the sacred soil will be distributed across all 27 organisational district units of Haryana and carried to towns and villages through the Social Harmony Kalash Yatra, where it will be ceremonially installed in temples so that the message of social harmony reaches every household and the entire State is blessed by the teachings of Sant Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj.

The Minister said that the primary objective of the grand Social Harmony Kalash Yatra is to connect the youth and future generations with the teachings, philosophy and principles of social harmony propounded by Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj.

The Minister said the Haryana Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, is continuously working to propagate the teachings and ideals of saints and great personalities in society. Krishan Lal Panwar said that Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Ji was one of the greatest saints of India's saint tradition, a social reformer, poet and one of the foremost pillars of the Nirgun Bhakti movement. He said Guru Ravidas Ji gave the message of love, equality, brotherhood, service and humanity to society at a time when caste discrimination, untouchability and social inequality were at their peak. Through his life and teachings, Guru Ravidas Ji provided a new direction to society, and his ideals remain as relevant today as they were during his lifetime.

Addressing a press conference in Panipat on Wednesday, Sh. Panwar said the Holy Kalash Yatra of Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Ji commenced from Varanasi and, as part of the organisation's nationwide programme, is passing through 27 organisational districts across the country. He said the yatra is not merely a religious event, but a national campaign to take Guru Ravidas Ji's message of social harmony, equality, brotherhood and humanity to every section of society. He added that wherever the yatra has reached, it has received a grand welcome from people belonging to all sections of society.

The Minister said the Holy Kalash Yatra will reach the Sarhaul Border in Gurugram on July 30, where it will be accorded a grand welcome by senior leaders of the State, members of the saint community and representatives of various social and religious organisations. Thereafter, the Holy Kalash will be placed at Shri Sheetla Mata Temple in Gurugram, where devotees will be able to offer prayers and pay their respects. He said the yatra would not only honour the devotees' long-standing faith but would also strengthen mutual brotherhood and social unity in society.

Sh. Krishan Lal Panwar said the Haryana Government is continuously working to preserve the legacy of saints and great personalities. In this direction, Guru Ravidas Dham is being constructed at Umri in Kurukshetra on approximately five acres of land for Rs. 124 crore. He said the Dham would emerge as an important centre of spiritual, cultural and social inspiration for future generations. The life, philosophy and social message of Guru Ravidas Ji would be preserved and propagated in a comprehensive manner at the Dham.

The Minister appealed to the people of the State to imbibe the message of love, equality, brotherhood, service, social justice and humanity propagated by Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Ji in their lives.

Sh. Panwar said Sant Ravidas is believed to have been born around the 15th century at Seer Govardhanpur, near Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh. His father's name was Santokh Dass (Raghu) and his mother's name was Karma Devi. Throughout his life, Guru Ravidas Ji established that no work is small or great; rather, a person's greatness is determined by

his thoughts, actions and spirit of service.

The Minister said Guru Ravidas Ji's teachings clearly reflect the values of love, compassion, equality and the welfare of humanity. He gave the message that the path to God lies only through righteous deeds, humility and selfless devotion. He inspired people to abandon outward rituals and adopt the path of truth, service and virtuous conduct.

The Minister said special programmes would be organised on February 20, the birth anniversary of the saint, and these programmes would continue thereafter. Sh. Panwar said Guru Ravidas Ji envisioned an ideal society called Begampura. Begampura means a city where there is no sorrow, fear, injustice, discrimination, tax or exploitation, and where all people live with equal rights, dignity and happiness. He said that even today, whenever social justice and equality are discussed, Guru Ravidas Ji's vision of Begampura stands out as one of the greatest sources of inspiration.

Get Tube Well Water Tested to Improve Crop Yield, Urges Agriculture Minister

Chandigarh, July 29 – Haryana Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare Minister, Sh. Shyam Singh Rana, has urged farmers across the State to get their tube well water tested regularly to enhance crop productivity. Emphasising the importance of water testing, Sh. Rana said, "Karvaoge Pani Ki Jaanch, Nahi Aayegi Fasal Utpadan Par Aanch" (Get your irrigation water tested to safeguard your crop yield.)

The Agriculture Minister said that the quality of irrigation water has a direct impact on crop growth and productivity. Water with high salinity and alkalinity can adversely affect soil fertility and reduce agricultural output. Timely testing of tube well water enables farmers to select suitable crops and adopt balanced and scientific nutrient and fertiliser management practices.

Explaining the correct procedure for collecting a tube well water sample, Sh. Rana said that farmers should operate the tube well continuously for at least 30 minutes before collecting the sample. Thereafter, approximately 500 ml (or 1 litre) of water should be collected in a clean plastic bottle.

He urged farmers to clearly mention their name, Meri Fasal Mera Byora (MFMB) ID, village name, Killa/Khasra number, mobile number, and borewell depth (in feet) on the bottle. The sample may then be submitted to the nearest Soil Health Testing Laboratory for analysis.

The Agriculture Minister further urged farmers to select crops and plan irrigation management strictly on the basis of the test report. PWD Minister Orders Strict Enforcement of Sewerage and Manhole Safety Norms

Seven monitoring committees formed across Haryana, officers violating safety protocols to be held personally accountable

Chandigarh, July 29 – Haryana Public Health Engineering and Public Works (Buildings & Roads) Minister, Sh. Ranbir Gangwa, has ordered strict enforcement of sewerage and manhole safety norms across the State, taking a serious view of accidents and lapses in safety compliance during sewerage and manhole-related works. He directed departmental officers to ensure that all prescribed safety protocols are followed meticulously and without exception.

The Minister made it categorically clear that any lapse in adherence to safety protocols will no longer be tolerated. He said that if the life of any employee is lost due to negligence in implementing mandatory safety measures, responsibility will be fixed on the concerned officers and strict action will be taken against them.

Sh. Ranbir Gangwa also directed that seven monitoring committees be constituted across Haryana. Each committee will comprise a Chief Engineer, the Superintending Engineer of the concerned circle and the Executive Engineer (XEN) of the respective division. These committees will conduct regular field inspections, verify compliance with safety arrangements and prescribed protocols, and submit their inspection reports directly to the department headquarters. The reports will be placed before the Minister without delay, he said.

To ensure that inspections remain impartial and effective, the Cabinet Minister further directed that Chief Engineers be assigned circles other than those falling under their present administrative jurisdiction.

Describing the incidents reported in the State as unfortunate, Sh. Ranbir Gangwa said there is an urgent need to strengthen departmental monitoring and accountability so that no lapse occurs in supervision or responsibility in future. He reiterated that the safety of every employee is the Government's foremost priority and that no compromise whatsoever with safety standards will be accepted.

No employee to be allowed to enter a sewer or manhole without prescribed safety equipment and strict compliance with safety protocols, says Minister

The Minister directed officers that no employee should be permitted to enter any sewer or manhole unless all prescribed safety equipment is made available and every mandatory safety protocol is fully complied with. He emphasised that there should be absolutely no negligence in this regard.

Referring to the meeting of the Haryana Water Supply and Sewerage Board (WSSB) held on June 23, the Minister said that Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini had also issued clear directions to the department to ensure complete compliance with prescribed safety standards in every sewerage and manhole-related operation.

No Sewer or Manhole to Be Left Uncovered Anywhere in Haryana- Ranbir Gangwa

Sh. Ranbir Gangwa said that several incidents had come to light in which negligence on the part of contractors as well as departmental officers had been observed. He also said that reports of accidents caused by uncovered sewer manholes had reached him. Stating that it is the department's responsibility to ensure that manholes are securely covered and made safe, he directed all officers to ensure that no manhole or sewer opening remains uncovered anywhere in the State and that regular monitoring is carried out to prevent such hazards.

The Minister also expressed displeasure over the fact that, in several cases, departmental officers fail to submit preliminary reports, fact-finding reports, Action Taken Reports (ATRs) and related files to the headquarters promptly after an accident. He said such negligence would not be tolerated in future. He directed that information regarding every such incident, along with all prescribed reports, must be sent to the headquarters immediately, and said it would be the responsibility of the concerned officers to ensure timely submission.

Directions Issued to All Deputy Commissioners

Sh. Ranbir Gangwa has also directed all Deputy Commissioners in the State to regularly review compliance with safety standards in sewerage and manhole-related works during their monthly review meetings. They have further been directed to ensure strict implementation of the State Government's directions as well as meticulous compliance, in letter and spirit, with the orders of the Hon'ble Supreme Court on the subject.

Chandigarh, July 29- Haryana Health Minister, Ms. Arti Singh Rao, on Wednesday held a meeting in Chandigarh with representatives of the Multipurpose Health Supervisors (Male/Female) and the ASHA Workers' Union. The primary objective of the meeting was to hear in detail the concerns, long-pending demands and practical challenges faced by these frontline healthcare workers and to ensure their resolution.

Additional Chief Secretary, Health, Dr Sumita Misra, Mission Director, National Health Mission Haryana, Sh. R.S. Dhillon, Director, National Health Mission, Dr Virender Yadav, along with several other senior officers of the department, were also present on the occasion.

Counterfeit Propylene Glycol Racket Busted in Faridabad, Manager Arrested

Chandigarh, July 29 - The Haryana Food and Drugs Administration has cracked a counterfeit pharmaceutical-grade chemical racket in Faridabad, with officials warning that the seized consignment could pose a life-threatening risk if contaminated beyond permissible limits. Propylene Glycol is widely used as an excipient in the manufacture of cough syrups and several other pharmaceutical formulations, making its quality and purity critical for patient safety, Additional Chief Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Sumita Misra, disclosed on Wednesday.

Dr. Misra said the crackdown comes under the department’s zero-tolerance policy against the manufacture, distribution and sale of spurious and counterfeit medicines, being steered under the guidance of Health Minister Aarti Rao, along with Food and Drugs Administration Commissioner Dr. Manoj Kumar and State Drugs Controller Ripan Mehta.

Dr. Misra said that, to the best of the department’s knowledge, this is the first case in India involving the alleged counterfeiting and repackaging of pharmaceutical-grade Propylene Glycol under the brand identity of an established manufacturer. She added that contamination of Propylene Glycol with Diethylene Glycol (DEG) or Ethylene Glycol (EG) has been linked to deaths reported in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan in recent months.

According to the disclosure, a team of FDA officers from Faridabad raided the premises of M/s Kokana Asia Ingredients Private Limited at Plot No. 910, Sector-69, IMT, Faridabad, on July 28, acting on a specific complaint that counterfeit Propylene Glycol was being sold under the reputed Manali brand name.

Officials said the inspection exposed an alleged repackaging operation in which industrial-grade Propylene Glycol was being decanted into drums bearing the labels and markings of M/s Manali Petrochemicals Limited, passing off the product as genuine output of the established manufacturer. The raiding team seized 42 drums of Propylene Glycol, empty Chinese-origin industrial-grade Propylene Glycol drums, a transfer pump, sealing covers carrying the Manali Petrochemicals name, and sealing wire under Form-16, while one sample was drawn under Form-17 for laboratory analysis. The total seizure amounting to Rs. 24,83,250/-.

Dr. Misra flagged the gravity of the find, noting that the sample has been sent for testing to determine whether it contains Diethylene Glycol or Ethylene Glycol impurities beyond permissible limits. Contamination of this kind, she said, can trigger severe toxicity, including acute kidney injury and neurological complications, and can prove fatal particularly among children and other vulnerable patients.

Citing prima facie evidence of the manufacture and sale of spurious and counterfeit drugs, officials confirmed that the firm’s Manager was arrested under the applicable provisions of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940, and produced before the competent court for further legal proceedings.

Haryana Bets Big on Industrial Growth, Chief Secretary Clears Ambala Mega Industrial Park Proposal Under Centre's BHAVYA Scheme

State-Level Committee Recommends ₹304-Crore Plug-and-Play Project; Move Aims to Position Ambala as a New Manufacturing and Investment Hub

Chandigarh, July 29 : In a major push to accelerate industrialisation and attract fresh investments, the Haryana Government today approved the proposal for a state-of-the-art industrial park at IMT Ambala under the Centre's flagship Bharat Audyogik Vikas Yojana (BHAVYA). The proposal received the green signal at a meeting of the State-Level Committee (SLC) chaired by Chief Secretary Sh. Anurag Rastogi, paving the way for its submission to the Government of India for final approval.

The proposed project envisages the development of a 108.58-acre investment-ready, plug-and-play industrial park within HSIIDC's upcoming IMT Ambala. With an estimated investment of ₹304.10 crore, the project is expected to significantly enhance Haryana's industrial infrastructure and strengthen its position as one of India's preferred manufacturing destinations.

During the meeting, the State-Level Committee reviewed the proposal's technical, financial and infrastructural aspects before recommending it under the BHAVYA scheme, a flagship Central initiative designed to create 100 world-class industrial parks across the country with an outlay of ₹33,660 crore over six years.

Commissioner & Secretary, Industries & Commerce, Dr. Amit Kumar Agrawal informed that the proposed industrial park meets the mandatory eligibility conditions of the scheme, including the availability of contiguous encumbrance-free land, strong multimodal connectivity and readiness for rapid implementation.

The project has been designed as a modern manufacturing ecosystem with 256 industrial plots, 15 ready-built factory sheds, warehousing facilities, common facility centres, worker housing, a skill development centre, power infrastructure, water treatment facilities, a Common Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP), internal road network, utilities and extensive green spaces.

The committee also reviewed the proposed implementation model under which the project will be executed through NICDC Haryana Multimodal Logistic Hub Project Ltd., an existing Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) of NICDC and HSIIDC, in accordance with the BHAVYA guidelines.

Chairing the meeting, Chief Secretary Sh. Anurag Rastogi stressed the need for seamless coordination among departments to ensure that Haryana's proposal is processed expeditiously at the national level. He directed the concerned agencies to complete all procedural requirements in a time-bound manner so that the state can leverage the Centre's industrial infrastructure initiative to its fullest potential.

Officials said the proposed industrial park is expected to become a catalyst for large-scale industrial investment, manufacturing expansion, logistics development and employment generation in northern Haryana. Besides creating modern industrial infrastructure, the project is also expected to improve the ease of doing business and attract domestic as well as global investors looking for investment-ready manufacturing locations.

Managing Director, Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation, Sh. Sushil Sarwan, Special Secretary, Revenue, Sh. Rahul Hooda, and other senior officers were present in the meeting.
