Chandigarh, March 3:-In a firm action to maintain public order and ensure obstruction-free public spaces, the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh today impounded six abandoned vehicles from Bank Square, Sector 17.

The enforcement drive was carried out under the directions of MC Commissioner Sh. Amit Kumar, IAS, as part of the Corporation’s continued efforts to keep city markets and public areas free from encroachments and unauthorized occupation.

During the operation, the enforcement team identified and impounded six dumped cars belonging to Indian Bank that had been occupying public parking space for a prolonged period. The vehicles were removed to restore smooth movement and ensure proper utilization of parking infrastructure in the busy commercial hub of Sector 17.

In addition to impounding the vehicles, the Corporation also issued a challan against the bank for unauthorized occupation of public space.

The Municipal Corporation reiterated its commitment to preserving the aesthetic and functional integrity of public spaces and warned that strict action will continue against any institution or individual found misusing public areas.

Residents and visitors to Sector 17 appreciated the swift action, which has helped in clearing valuable parking space in one of the city’s prime commercial centers.
