Ludhiana, February 28, 2026-Guru Angad Dev Veterinary & Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana, is all set to host its 18th Annual Athletic Meet on March 3, 2026. The preparations for the grand sporting event have been completed, informed Dr. Rabinder Singh Aulakh, Director of Students’ Welfare, Vet Varsity.

Sharing details of the programme, Dr. Aulakh said that S. Gurmeet Singh Khuddian, Cabinet Minister, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development and Food Processing will inaugurate the Athletic Meet at 10:00 A.M. at the Punjab Agricultural University Track.

Dr. J.P.S. Gill, Vice-Chancellor extended his heartfelt best wishes to all participants and expressed hope that the students will continue to bring laurels to the university and the nation, not only in academics but also in sports. He remarked that such vibrant events provide students a refreshing break and help in rejuvenation.

Dr. Bilawal Singh, Organizing Secretary of the meet, highlighted that the university students have been performing remarkably well in sports and co-curricular activities at All India Inter-Varsity competitions. He added that students from various constituent colleges including the College of Veterinary Science, Ludhiana and Rampura Phul, College of Fisheries, College of Animal Biotechnology, and College of Dairy & Food Science Technology will participate. Teams from affiliated institutions such as Veterinary Polytechnic, Kaljharani (Bathinda), and Khalsa College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Amritsar will also take part.

Dr. Aulakh further stated that all arrangements to ensure smooth conduct of the meet have been finalized. Duties related to first aid, record keeping, and track requirements have been assigned to the concerned officials.

Dr Parteek Singh Dhaliwal, Jt. Org. Secretary informed that adding more excitement to the event, a spectacular Horse Show and Cultural Programme will be the special attractions during the concluding function.
