CHANDIGARH, 18.02.26-An innovative method of teaching Pharmacology through short educational videos, developed by the B.Sc Nursing 3rd semester students, as a part of their project work, was presented on 17.2.2026 at the National Institute of Nursing Education (NINE), PGIMER, Chandigarh, for the first time under the guidance of Mrs. Mamta Suryavanshi, Subject Co-ordinator Pharmacology and Dr. Mandeep Kaur, faculty NINE. The videos were evaluated by Dr. Ruchi Saini and Dr. Amandeep Kaur, faculty NINE. Basic B.Sc Nursing 1st year and Post Basic 1st year students participated in the event.

The event aimed to promote practical learning, creativity, teamwork, and awareness about the safe and rational use of medicines. Students presented educational videos on important topics including OTC drugs, drug compliance, anti-asthmatic drugs, antibiotic sensitivity testing, patient rights, medication errors, antibiotic stewardship, and adverse drug reactions (ADR).

Dr. Sukhpal Kaur, Principal, NINE applauded the initiative and emphasized the importance of innovative learning methods in improving healthcare standards and ensuring patient safety.

The judges highly appreciated the overall efforts of the students. In particular, the videos on Antibiotic Stewardship and Patient Safety received special appreciation for their clarity, relevance, and impactful presentation. Valuable feedback was provided to encourage continued excellence in awareness-based learning.

Mrs. Mamta Suryavanshi appreciated the students’ enthusiasm for learning and their thoughtful efforts in sensitizing others and she highlighted that these educational videos will serve as valuable resources for patients, nursing students, and teachers in pharmacology alike. The future of nursing leadership is promising, and with professionals like these students, the quality of care will continue to advance to the highest standards. The program concluded with a vote of thanks, marking the event as a meaningful step toward strengthening responsible medication practices and public health awareness.
