CHANDIGARH, 10.02.26-Shri Anil Malik, IAS, Secretary to the Government of India, Ministry of Women & Child Development, chaired a review meeting to assess the progress of Mission Saksham Anganwadi and POSHAN 2.0 in the Union Territory of Chandigarh.

During the meeting, the Director, Social Welfare, Chandigarh apprised the Secretary of the overall progress achieved under the schemes, highlighting key initiatives, achievements, and implementation status related to nutrition, early childhood care and development, and strengthening of Anganwadi services.

The Secretary reviewed various components of the programmes, including service delivery, nutritional outcomes, convergence with allied departments, use of technology, and capacity building of Anganwadi functionaries. He emphasized the importance of effective implementation, outcome-based monitoring, and focused efforts to improve nutritional indicators among women and children.

Shri Anil Malik appreciated the efforts made by the UT Administration and advised further strengthening of field-level interventions, regular monitoring, and community participation to ensure the objectives of Mission Saksham Anganwadi and POSHAN 2.0 are achieved in a time-bound manner.

The meeting concluded with directions to continue coordinated efforts for enhancing the quality and reach of services under the flagship schemes.
