Chandigarh 10th February -Kamaljit Singh Panchhi, President of the Chandigarh Traders Association, Sector 17, and Brand Ambassador for Solar City under the Chandigarh Administration, visited the solar awareness camp at Plaza, Sector 17 Market today and lauded the Chandigarh Renewable Energy Science and Technology Promotion Society (CREST) for organizing solar awareness and facilitation camps at various prominent locations across the city under the Centre’s flagship scheme PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, being held from 10th February to 14th February 2026.
Mr. Panchhi stated that the initiative aims to spread awareness about the scheme and provide on-the-spot assistance to citizens interested in installing rooftop solar power systems. Representatives from leading banks and CREST-empanelled vendors are present at the camps to facilitate on-the-spot registrations, provide loan-related guidance, and assist residents with subsidy-related queries. Appealing to the residents of Chandigarh, Mr. Panchhi urged them to take full advantage of these camps and avail subsidies of up to ₹78,000 for residential rooftop solar systems, along with low-interest bank loans at rates as low as 6% through participating banks.
