Punjab Governor Honours NCC Cadets, Lauds Discipline and Spirit of National Service

Chandigarh, February 2:The Governor of Punjab and Administrator of Chandigarh honoured NCC cadets at Punjab Lok Bhavan and congratulated them for their outstanding performance in the 77th Republic Day Parade and the Republic Day Camp held in New Delhi. He said that marching on Kartavya Path symbolised the cadets’ commitment to the Constitution, democracy and national unity, and described their selection as recognition of their discipline, character and dedication.

The Governor noted with pride that the NCC Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh Directorate sent a strong contingent of 133 cadets to the Republic Day Camp, including 63 cadets from Punjab.

Secretary Education and Director School Education Conduct Surprise Inspections of Government Schools in UT Chandigarh

Chandigarh, February 02, 2026:Ms. Prerna Puri, IAS, Secretary, School Education, and Sh. Nitish Singla, PCS, Director, School Education, UT Chandigarh Administration, today conducted surprise inspections of government schools to assess on-ground conditions and review educational as well as infrastructural facilities.

During the inspections, the officers visited Government Model High Schools at Dhanas (RC-1, RC-2 and RC-3). They examined school infrastructure, drinking water arrangements, sanitation facilities, classrooms, playgrounds, and overall cleanliness of the school.
