Chandigarh, 23 December: Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women organised ‘Pushpanjali’, a solemn and heartfelt floral tribute to the great visionary and jurist Justice Mehr Chand Mahajan, on the occasion of his 136th birth anniversary. Born in 1889, Justice Mehr Chand Mahajan was a distinguished jurist and statesman who served the nation with exemplary integrity and foresight. As the third Chief Justice of India, he played a pivotal role during the formative years of the Indian judiciary and earned widespread respect for his unwavering commitment to constitutional values, judicial independence, and the rule of law.
The commemorative programme was marked by a dignified floral offering, followed by reflective deliberations on his inspiring life, ideals, and enduring legacy. The gathering also observed a moment of silence as a mark of reverence, collectively reaffirming respect for his invaluable contribution to the nation.
Addressing the gathering, Officiating Principal Ms. Neena Sharma reflected on the rich legacy of Justice Mehr Chand Mahajan, stating that his life stands as a timeless reminder that truth and justice are not merely ideals but profound responsibilities. She further added that his visionary principles continue to inspire institutions like MCM to nurture ethical, informed, and conscientious citizens committed to nation-building.
