CHANDIGARH, 26.11.25-“Samvidhan Diwas is not merely a day of remembrance—it is a powerful reminder of our duties as citizens and healthcare professionals,” stated Prof. Vivek Lal, Director, PGIMER , as he led the instlitute in commemorating Samvidhan Diwas (Constitution Day) today at PGIMER Chandigarh.
The observance brought together senior functionaries including Prof. R.K. Ratho, Dean (Academics); Mr. Pankaj Rai, Deputy Director (Administration); and Mr. Ravinder Singh, Financial Advisor, along with senior faculty, residents, nurses, and staff. The gathering reaffirmed the collective commitment to uphold the values enshrined in the Constitution of India.
The ceremony commenced with Prof. Vivek Lal leading the reading of the Preamble of the Constitution, followed by the National Pledge, setting a solemn and inspiring tone. His presence at the forefront underscored PGIMER’s conviction in championing constitutional principles through its daily functioning and service ethos.
Addressing the audience, Prof. Vivek Lal emphasized the profound significance of the day in shaping national consciousness and institutional character as he highlighted, " The principles of justice, equality, compassion, and service embedded in our Constitution guide us every day at PGIMER. By renewing our pledge today, we reaffirm our dedication to patient-centric care, ethical practice, and nation-building. Upholding these ideals is our shared responsibility—and a legacy we must carry forward to inspire future generations.”
He further underscored the responsibility of premier institutions like PGIMER in translating constitutional values into action by ensuring inclusive healthcare, equitable access, and community-focused programmes.
