MAHENDERGARH, 03.11.25-A short-term program on “Artificial Intelligence (AI) Tools for Teachers” commenced on Monday at the Madan Mohan Malaviya Teacher Training Centre (MMTTC), Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh.

The inaugural session was graced by the Prof. Pawan Kumar Sharma, Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University, as the Chief Guest. He emphasized that AI is the need of the hour and serves as an effective companion for teachers. Referring to the vision of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, he noted that the University leadership consistently supports innovation and technological advancement. He urged teachers to equip themselves with the emerging educational and technological changes. Prof. Sunita Srivastava graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour and Prof. K. Sriniwas from the National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA), New Delhi, was the Keynote Speaker of technical session first and second.

Prof. Pramod Kumar, Director of UGC-MMTTC, CUH presented the overview of the program, informing that more than 150 participants registered for this programme from various educational institutions across the country.

In his address, Prof. Pawan Kumar Sharma highlighted the growing importance and practical utility of AI in the teaching-learning process. He stated that AI can serve as a valuable tool to make education more effective and interactive.

Prof. Sunita Srivastava emphasized the need for teachers to adapt to AI-based tools both in academic and administrative domains. She encouraged educators to learn from these technologies and apply them for the holistic development of students.

Prof. K. Sriniwas underscored AI as an essential medium for quality-driven innovation in education. He explained that teachers must actively engage in communication, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking to meet diverse student needs—and that AI can be a supportive ally in all these areas. He also clarified that AI can never replace human educators but can complement their teaching practices when used responsibly.

The introduction of the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour, and Keynote Speaker was done by Prof. Shriram Pandey, Program Coordinator, and Prof. Tanu Gupta, Deputy Director, UGC-MMTTC. The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Amit Kumar, Co-Coordinator of the event.
