Chandigarh, October 22:-In a significant step toward strengthening citizen engagement and ensuring prompt redressal of civic issues, Hon’ble Mayor of Chandigarh, Smt. Harpreet Kaur Babla, held an interactive meeting with the residents of Harmony Homes, Sector 35-A, at House No. 353, today evening.

The meeting witnessed enthusiastic participation from the residents, who shared their concerns, suggestions, and aspirations regarding basic amenities and civic infrastructure in the sector. Issues discussed included water supply, sanitation, street lighting, waste management, and other municipal services.

Mayor Harpreet Kaur Babla gave a patient hearing to the residents and assured them of swift action on matters pertaining to the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh. She further committed to taking up non-MCC-related concerns with the Chandigarh Administration for timely resolution.

To ensure immediate follow-up, the Mayor also instructed concerned MCC officials to address sector-specific issues on priority and coordinate directly with the local residents’ welfare association.

In a unique moment during the meeting, residents expressed their desire for the Mayor's tenure to be at least 2.5 years, emphasizing that such continuity would allow for more effective implementation and long-term solutions to persistent civic issues.

Smt. Harpreet Kaur Babla appreciated the proactive involvement of the residents and reiterated that citizen participation is key to building a responsive and efficient urban governance system. She encouraged continued dialogue between the community and municipal authorities to create a cleaner, greener, and more liveable Chandigarh.
