CHANDIGARH,14.09.25-A plenary session by Dr. Chetna Duggal, “Where the Roads Meet: Pathways to Strengthening Community Mental Health Care”, outlined the pressing need for integrated, accessible, and culturally grounded services, while also charting future directions for strengthening networks of care.
In another plenary, *Mr. Siddartha Wig r*eflected on “The Idea of Home: How Physical Space Shapes Our Mental Health”, weaving insights from lived experience, architecture, and social psychiatry to illuminate how the spaces we inhabit shape our psychological wellbeing.
Adding a deeply personal dimension, Ms. Purvai Aranya delivered her reflections titled “Waterlog”, a moving narrative that highlighted the resilience, creativity, and meaning-making processes intertwined with mental health journeys.
The day was enriched by various symposiums, which covered diverse aspects of social psychiatry, from youth and family mental health to digital influences and evolving community-based models of care.

As NCIASP 2025 drew to a close, participants departed with renewed energy and commitment to the theme of social determinants of mental health. Over three days, the conference fostered dialogue across disciplines, generations, and communities—affirming the role of social psychiatry in shaping inclusive, humane, and sustainable approaches to mental health care in India and beyond.
