Chandigarh, 23.08.25-: Under the leadership of Subhashini Rai, Regional Manager (RBO-4, Chandigarh) of the State Bank of India (SBI), a special awareness camp was organized by Ram Darbar Branch Manager, Dinaire Jain, at the Pracheen Shiv Manas Mandir, Industrial Area Phase 2, as part of the Multipurpose Jan Samriddhi Campaign.
On this occasion, Neeraj Bharti, GM (NW-2), was present as the chief guest. Other dignitaries included Vivek Kumar, DGM (B&O, Panchkula), Jatinder Pal Malhotra, local BJP president, Bhupendra Singh, BJP District President, Naveen Miglani, Vice President of the Chandigarh Chamber of Industries (CCI), Surinder Kumar Singal, Lead Bank Manager (Chandigarh), Tarvinder Kaur, Principal of Government Model Senior Secondary School, Karsan Colony, Ramdarbar, and Ritesh Kumar, AGM (Financial Inclusion, B&O Panchkula).
On this occasion, Neeraj Bharti highlighted the importance of social security schemes and e-KYC. More than 125 people participated in the camp. SBI spread awareness about this campaign in the regional language so that rural customers could easily understand. People actively participated, and SBI officials addressed all their queries.
It is noteworthy that, in accordance with the directions issued by the Ministry of Finance, Department of Financial Services, Government of India, a three-month saturation campaign for financial inclusion is being carried out across the country at the Gram Panchayat level. The objective is to expand flagship financial inclusion schemes such as the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY), Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), and Atal Pension Yojana (APY). Under this, SBI has launched a special initiative named Jan Samriddhi Abhiyan, which focuses on enrolling beneficiaries in these schemes, re-verifying KYC in all pending accounts, conducting awareness sessions to prevent digital fraud, and spreading information about unclaimed deposit accounts.
All questions raised by customers were answered carefully by the SBI team, thereby strengthening transparency and trust among the rural public. This initiative reaffirms SBI’s commitment to promoting financial inclusion and empowering rural communities by ensuring easy access to banking services and government-supported welfare schemes.
