Mahendergarh , 15.04.24-On the occasion of Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar Jayanti, a celebration program was organized by the SC ST Cell, Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh on the topic "Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and the Constitution: Path to Women’s Empowerment" on April 15, 2024. The program began with a floral tribute to Ambedkar, followed by the University ‘Kulgeet’. In presence, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Tankeshwar and Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Sushma Yadav, as well as keynote speakers Dr. Jenny Rowena P from Miranda House, University of Delhi, and Dr. Ramesh Sirohi from the Institute of Law, Kurukshetra University. Also present members were from SC ST Cell, program organizers, other faculty members, and students.

Dr. T. Longkoi Khiamniungan, Department of Sociology at CUH delivered a welcome address and provided a brief overview of B.R. Ambedkar's historical contributions to women's empowerment. Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice-Chancellor welcomed all the guests and highlighted the university's efforts to strengthen Ambedkar's ideas and promote women's equality through initiatives such as maternity leave, the Ambedkar symbol, the Knowledge Park, and the Dr. Ambedkar Excellence of Centre. Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sushma Yadav congratulated the organizers for arranging the program and emphasized Ambedkar's role in nation-building and women's empowerment, emphasizing the importance of constitutional rights for women's empowerment.

Dr. Ramesh Sirohi presented his viewpoint on the constitution, law, and judiciary. Dr. Jenny Rowena presented an analytical perspective on Ambedkar’s role in women's empowerment and equality. She discussed how Ambedkar addressed the discourse on caste, emphasizing that endogamy and purity are key factors perpetuating the caste system. Before ending the programme, skit play and poem performed by DACE students, followed by vote of thanks by Dr. Mulaka Maruthi and National Anthem.
