Mahendergarh, 27.03.24-Prof. Akash Saxena, Dr. Munish Manas, and Dr. Rajesh Kumar Dubey, faculty members of the Department of Electrical Engineering at Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh have successfully patented an innovative solar monitoring system. This pioneering system aims to measure crucial parameters and characteristics of solar plants, facilitating data collection, diagnosis, and processing. Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice Chancellor of the University, commended the faculty members of the Electrical Engineering Department for their groundbreaking innovation. He emphasized the university's commitment to aligning research practices with India’s National Action Plan on Climate Change, particularly the National Solar Mission (NSM) and The National Mission for Green India (GIM).

The newly developed system establishes communication with inverters, electrometers, metrological equipment, and additional components of photovoltaic arrays, enhancing the efficiency and management of solar energy production. Constructed on cutting-edge data collection technologies, the system features a specialized data logger BBbox installed at generating plants. A notable achievement of this monitoring system is its successful application in monitoring and controlling a 155 KW photovoltaic system, exemplified by the selection of three PV plants in a microgrid pilot project. By adhering to internationally recognized software PVGIS (version 5), the system ensures that electricity production aligns with expected values over the past five years of operation, reflecting its reliability and accuracy. One of the key advantages of this system is its ability to identify and rectify installation errors, thereby ensuring the continuous operation of photovoltaic arrays. In cases of reduced output power, the system enables servicemen and engineers to promptly detect and resolve errors, optimizing plant performance. The development of this solar monitoring system underscores Central University of Haryana's dedication to advancing sustainable energy solutions and contributing to India's renewable energy goals.
