Chandigarh, March 12:- Sh. Kuldeep Kumar, Mayor, Chandigarh today launched “ Mayor Aapke Dwar” programme to reach out to the local residents to hear MC Chandigarh related grievances.

The programme was launched at Indra Colony, Manimajra here today evening in the presence of Smt. Suman Sharma, area councilor, other councilors and senior officers of MC, Chandigarh. Representatives from various area level federations, resident welfare associations and local residents were present during the programme.

While addressing the local residents at the Community Centre, Indra Colony, the Mayor said that the MC Chandigarh would make proper arrangement to ensure that benefits of schemes and programmes to reach at the right beneficiaries including providing and upgradation of basic amenities to the citizens of City Beautiful.

He said that the MC Chandigarh would make necessary changes in order to make the services more beneficial for the people. He said that the MCC will organize such type of “Mayor Aapke Dwar” programmes to hear the people’s grievances and redress them at the local level and noted down the grievances, which requires time and budget to be processed.

He said that now people will not have to run after the offices for getting their work done but the officials will themselves reach to them and solve their complaints. He said that works which can not be solved on time for them a timeline should be fixed and the concerned person should be informed on the phone.

The Mayor said that information regarding the presence of the officials in the respective areas will be shared by different mediums of communications so that a maximum number of people can take its advantage. He said that apart from solving the complaints of the people, the officials will also apprise the citizens regarding various schemes and new developments of the MC Chandigarh and also tell them the ways as to how they can take its benefits.

Local residents raised their grievances during the programme including drinking water problem, door to door waste collection, pruning of trees, providing of paver blocks, maintenance of parks, recarpeting of internal roads and problem of haphazard parking of vehicles in the colony. The concerned officers noted down the complaints and assured the citizens for their early solution.
