Chandigarh, September 26 — Amid the impressive performance of Indian athletes at the Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, Haryana’s women athletes are making the state and the country proud with their performances. Haryana Minister of State for Sports and Youth Empowerment Sh. Gaurav Gautam extended his best wishes to the Indian women athletes, particularly the daughters of Haryana, for their outstanding performances at the Games.
He said Haryana’s daughters have once again demonstrated through their hard work, talent and determination that the state is a powerhouse of sporting talent.
The Sports Minister said the presence of six daughters of Haryana in the Indian women’s kabaddi team is a matter of immense pride for the state. He said women are today leading the country not only on the sporting field but in every sphere. The performance of the kabaddi team reflects teamwork, discipline and strong determination. He expressed hope that Haryana’s athletes would return from the Asian Games with a rich haul of medals.
Sh. Gaurav Gautam said the state government is committed to providing athletes with modern sports facilities and international-level coaching. Through Mission Olympics-2036, special emphasis is being laid on identifying and nurturing sporting talent from the grassroots level.
He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi, initiatives such as Khelo India have helped create a strong sporting ecosystem in the country, the impact of which is now visible in international competitions.
The Sports Minister said Haryana’s athletes would be accorded a grand welcome and civic felicitation on their return from the Asian Games. He also urged the youth to make sports a means of personality development and said the state government would continue to provide equal opportunities to every talented athlete to progress and excel.

Three-Day Training Programme for Departmental Officers on Vision2Action Portal Concludes
Chandigarh, September 26 — A three-day training programme organised to link the long-term goals of Haryana Vision-2047 with practical departmental action plans and strengthen their regular monitoring concluded successfully.
The training programme was organised by the Centre for Sustainable Development Goals Coordination and Acceleration under the aegis of the Swarn Jayanti Haryana Institute for Financial Management, Panchkula.
Held under the guidance of the Institute’s Director General, Dr Raj Nehru, the workshop focused on digitising the action plans various state departments are preparing on the ‘Vision2Action’ portal. Nodal and backup officers designated by various departments of the Haryana Government participated in the training.
During the programme, officers were informed that, in upcoming departmental review meetings, the progress of schemes would be assessed exclusively through the Vision2Action portal. Accordingly, departments have been directed to enter their action plans on the portal as per the prescribed official sequence—Vision Theme, Vision Issue, Vision Pathway, and Departmental Action/Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
The officers were given hands-on training in registering on the portal, selecting departments, setting baselines, defining year-wise targets and updating quarterly activities.
The training aimed to ensure the accuracy, completeness and regular updating of departmental data ahead of the upcoming review meetings, thereby facilitating the timely implementation of the objectives envisaged under Haryana Vision-2047.
Dr. Savita Mandhar, State Programme Officer of the Institute, and Vikas Verma, Head of the Sustainable Development Goals Centre, played a key role in the successful conduct of the programme. Subject expert Rishi Raj Sharma served as the lead trainer and addressed the technical queries of the participating officers. Akhil Sharma, Dikshant Sharma and Yashojit Kasera provided support in technical and communication arrangements.

*Rs. 7.34 Crore Approved for Four-Laning of Pehowa-Dhand Road*
*Haryana Accelerating Expansion of Better Road Network- Ranbir Gangwa*
Chandigarh, September 26 — The Haryana Government is continuously working to strengthen the state’s road infrastructure and provide better and smoother connectivity to the people. As part of these efforts, administrative approval of Rs. 734.35 lakh has been accorded for the four-laning of the Pehowa-Dhand Road from RD 53.00 to RD 54.00 in Kurukshetra district.
Public Works and Public Health Engineering Minister Sh. Ranbir Singh Gangwa said that a robust road network is an important foundation for the development of any region. The government is working to make roads across the state stronger, safer and more convenient, ensuring hassle-free travel for people and improved connectivity between different areas.
He said that under the project, necessary activities related to utility shifting and forest clearance will be undertaken during the current financial year. The department has initiated the necessary process to take the work forward.
The Minister said that road development works across the state are being accorded priority so as to further strengthen the existing road infrastructure and provide better transportation facilities to the people.
