Chandigarh, September 14 – Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, said that the India-UK CETA is an important agreement that will open new global trade opportunities for Haryana. It will provide better access to the UK market for key sectors of the State such as textiles, footwear, gems and jewellery, and engineering. The agreement will also play an important role in creating new growth opportunities by connecting Haryana’s youth, farmers, MSMEs and startups with global investors and new technologies.

Sh. Nayab Singh Saini was addressing the ‘Haryana-UK CETA Trade Bridge: Unlocking Global Opportunities for Haryana’ programme at a university in Gurugram on Monday. The programme was organised in collaboration with the UK High Commission. He welcomed representatives of the British High Commission from the UK, foreign friends, representatives of industry, investors and other partners to Haryana, the land of action.

In his address, the Chief Minister said that India-UK relations are based on a long-standing partnership, democratic values, innovation and strong people-to-people ties. Lakhs of overseas Indians, including thousands of Haryanvi families, have made significant contributions to the development of the UK, while British institutions have also played the role of trusted partners in Haryana’s development journey.

*Haryana Moving Forward with Goal of Viksit Bharat by 2047*

Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that under the visionary leadership of the Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi, India has emerged as a trusted destination for global investors and is moving rapidly towards the goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047. The year 2047 will mark 100 years of India’s Independence and, at the same time, 100 years of India-UK relations. In line with this national resolve, Haryana has set the historic target of contributing one trillion dollars to the country’s economy.

He said that Haryana will complete 60 glorious years of its formation on November 1. These six decades bear testimony to the hard work of farmers, the toil of workers and the vision of entrepreneurs.

*After Success of 2016, Global Investors Summit to be Held Again in 2027*

The Chief Minister said that at this historic milestone, the ‘Happening Haryana Global Investors Summit-2027’ will be organised from April 5 to 7, 2027. Earlier, the summit held in 2016 had received investment proposals worth Rs. 6.41 lakh crore.

He said that the ‘Happening Haryana 2.0’ international outreach campaign was launched from Mumbai on August 23 and 24. In Mumbai, MoUs worth more than Rs. 66,000 crore were signed with 17 companies. During this period, interactions were also held with more than 200 leading business leaders, entrepreneurs and members of the Haryanvi diaspora.

The Chief Minister said that to promote the Global Investors Summit-2027, roadshows will be organised in seven major cities of the country and nine major global economic centres, including Japan, South Korea, Davos, Germany, the UK, Brazil, Chile and Dubai.

*10 Sector-Specific Policies to Promote Industries of the Future*

Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that the State Government has recently introduced 10 sector-specific policies to promote industries of the future such as semiconductors, electronics, AI, data centres, medical devices, automobiles, electric vehicles, agribusiness and Global Capability Centres.

The State Government aims to attract fresh investment of Rs. 5 lakh crore and create more than 10 lakh jobs by 2030-31. On the very first day of the launch of these policies, 110 MoUs involving investment of Rs. 1.10 lakh crore were signed, including foreign investment of Rs. 24,350 crore.

*Focus on Boosting MSMEs and Exports*

The Chief Minister said that Haryana has undertaken 60 transformative initiatives for the MSME and export sectors. Since the introduction of the State’s first MSME policy in February 2019, more than 15 lakh MSMEs have been formally registered in Haryana.

The ‘Haryana Progressive MSME and Export Promotion Policy-2026’ has now been introduced. Under the policy, the State has set a target of attracting investment of more than Rs. 55,000 crore, creating over 5 lakh new jobs and doubling Haryana’s exports.

The Chief Minister said that despite accounting for only 2 per cent of the country’s geographical area, Haryana has emerged as one of the most dynamic economies in the country. From manufacturing and the automotive sector to technology, innovation and agriculture, the State has established new benchmarks. Gurugram today ranks among India’s leading business, technology and global services hubs.

He said that this transformation is not a matter of chance, but the result of continuous direct engagement with industry since 2014, the hard work of farmers, the energy of youth and the unwavering confidence of investors.

*Foreign Cooperation Department Playing Key Role under ‘Go Global’ Vision*

The Chief Minister said that keeping in view the rapidly changing world, Artificial Intelligence and the restructuring of global supply chains, Haryana has adopted the forward-looking ‘Go Global’ vision. The India-UK CETA is a milestone in this direction.

He said that the Haryana Government established the Foreign Cooperation Department in 2020 to accelerate global investment and trade and facilitate the smooth implementation of agreements such as the India-UK CETA. He called upon all global partners present at the programme to make maximum use of the department. He said that the department will assist in addressing requirements related to expanding business in Haryana.

*Invitation to Attend International Gita Jayanti Mahotsav*

Describing Haryana as the land of action of Lord Shree Krishna and the sacred land of the Gita, the Chief Minister invited all global partners present at the programme to attend the ‘International Gita Jayanti Mahotsav-2026’. He said that besides trade and investment, it would also provide an opportunity to connect with Haryana’s spiritual and philosophical heritage.

Haryana Industries and Commerce Minister, Rao Narbir Singh, said that the ‘Haryana-UK Trade Bridge’ is an important initiative towards strengthening trade, investment, education and mutual cooperation between Haryana and the United Kingdom. He said that the India-UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement will open new opportunities for Haryana’s businesses, investors, educational institutions, startups, farmers and youth and give fresh impetus to trade and investment. Addressing the programme, British Deputy High Commissioner (Chandigarh), Ms Alba Smeriglio, said that Haryana and the UK share strong ties in trade, investment, innovation and education. The India-UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) presents an important opportunity to take these relations to new heights. She said that the success of CETA will be measured by the new business partnerships and investments it generates, growth in trade and the employment opportunities it creates.

She said that Haryana’s strengths in manufacturing, agriculture, technology and services and the UK’s expertise in innovation, advanced manufacturing, financial services, education and research complement each other. *CETA Gives Impetus to Export Orders, Investment and Employment Opportunities in Haryana within Two Months- Pawan Choudhary*

Advisor to Chief Minister in Haryana’s Foreign Cooperation Department, Sh. Pawan Choudhary, said that since the India-UK CETA came into effect on July 15, Haryana has, in nearly two months, been moving rapidly towards translating it into actual export orders, investment and new employment opportunities. He said that CETA is an important means for Haryana to connect with global markets and convert the State’s industrial capabilities into new opportunities.

He said that Haryana today is an economy of around USD 154 billion and is growing at a rate of nearly 11 per cent. The State is making a significant contribution to the country’s economic and industrial activities. Haryana has established a strong identity in the fields of automobiles, manufacturing, digital services and Global Capability Centres. Gurugram has a significant presence of Global Capability Centres and BPOs in the country.

Sh. Pawan Choudhary said that Haryana’s exports have increased from around USD 12 billion in 2019-20 to USD 19 billion in 2025-26. The State has 12,271 registered startups, of which more than 11,500 are recognised under DPIIT and Startup India. He said that digital systems, transparency and a better environment for industries have made Haryana a strong destination for investment and business.

He said that through the India-UK CETA, new opportunities will now open in the UK market for Haryana’s industries, exporters, startups and investors. The State Government endeavours to ensure that these opportunities are not confined merely to the agreement, but are translated into actual business, investment and employment.

During the programme, Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, along with British Deputy High Commissioner (Chandigarh), Ms. Alba Smeriglio, visited an exhibition organised at the venue with the objective of further accelerating trade and industrial cooperation between Haryana and the UK and exploring new opportunities in the global market. Nayab Singh Saini, on Sunday late evening, attended the grand Shree Ram Katha Samapan Samaroh at Shree Ram Bhawan, Kharar, where he listened to the divine Katha of Bhagwan Shree Ram and offered Ahuti in the Yagya, praying for the prosperity, peace and well-being of the people of the State. He also visited an exhibition organised at Shri Ram Bhawan.

The Chief Minister said that the divine character of Lord Shree Ram is an exemplary ideal of human values, righteous conduct, devotion to duty, sacrifice and steadfastness. His life inspires everyone to remain firm on the path of truth and Dharma and discharge their duties with sincerity even in the most difficult circumstances.

Chandigarh, September 14 – Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Sh. Shyam Singh Rana, said that Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi’s historic 25-year journey of public life, public service, good governance and nation-building will be taken to every citizen through the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’, to be organised across Haryana from September 17 to October 17, 2026.

Interacting with media persons in Kurukshetra on Monday, the Cabinet Minister said that Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini will launch programmes from different locations across the State. The campaign aims to express gratitude for the Prime Minister’s resolve of service, take information about his public welfare initiatives to every family and ensure citizens’ participation in building a developed India.

He said that the Prime Minister’s 25 years as Chief Minister and Prime Minister represent an inspiring chapter of service, good governance, resolve and nation-building. On September 17, Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, will participate in a blood donation camp, rangoli, ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ and a grand drone show in Kurukshetra.

*Campaign to Begin with ‘Seva Diwas’ on September 17*

Sh. Shyam Singh Rana said that the campaign will begin on the Prime Minister’s birthday on September 17 with ‘Seva Diwas’. Blood donation camps will be organised, followed by the ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ programme in the evening. He appealed to every family in Haryana to light an ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ at their home at 7 p.m. as an expression of affection and gratitude towards the Prime Minister.

Painting and speech competitions will be organised in all schools from September 17 to October 7. The Prime Minister’s 25-year journey of transformation will also be taken to villages through street plays, music, dialogue and emotional presentations.

The Cabinet Minister said that untold stories of families whose lives have been transformed by public welfare schemes will be brought before society. ‘Aangan Milan Seva’ programmes will be organised from September 25 to October 7 with the active participation of mothers and children, while the contribution of Anganwadi and ASHA workers will be recognised. The true transformation stories of 25 lakh citizens will also be brought before the people. Foot marches and motorcycle rallies will be organised in villages and districts.

*Every Citizen to Devote at Least 25 Minutes to Society*

Sh. Shyam Singh Rana said that a ‘Viksit Bharat’ cannot be built through government efforts alone and requires the contribution of every citizen. Under the campaign, every citizen will be encouraged to devote at least 25 minutes to society through activities such as blood donation, plantation, cleanliness drives, teaching digital technology to the elderly and educating children in need.

Awareness about drug de-addiction, road safety, water conservation, cyber security, women’s health and organ donation can also become a means of service, he added.

*Bring Paddy to Mandis After Proper Drying to Avoid Difficulty- Shyam Singh Rana*

Speaking on paddy procurement, the Agriculture Minister said that farmers will not face any difficulty if they bring their produce to mandis after properly drying it. Paddy is procured at the prescribed moisture level of 17 per cent. He said that the government stands firmly with farmers and arhtiyas, adding that the government, farmers and traders are members of one family.

Sh. Shyam Singh Rana said that wheat is procured by the government, while paddy is processed into rice through rice mills. He said that crop procurement is undertaken by the Central Government, while its management is handled by the State Government.

He explained that earlier, when paddy was harvested manually, it would reach mandis after about 20 days to a month. With combine harvesting, the produce can now reach the mandi within half an hour, resulting in higher moisture content. He said that the government obtains 67 kg of rice per quintal from rice mills, and excess moisture in paddy can reduce the quantity of rice after drying.

The Minister also appealed to farmers to cultivate pulses along with wheat and paddy.

*Agriculture Sector to Play Key Role in Viksit Bharat 2047*

Sh. Shyam Singh Rana said that the Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi, has envisaged a 20 per cent contribution from the agriculture sector towards the goal of Viksit Bharat 2047. This goal can be achieved when farmers produce all crops within the country, and India does not have to import food items from abroad.

He said that historic changes have also taken place in the agriculture sector. Efforts are being made to make agriculture more profitable through agricultural infrastructure, irrigation, natural farming and modern technology.

Under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, farmers are receiving annual assistance of Rs. 6,000 directly into their bank accounts, with Rs. 4.50 lakh crore disbursed so far. Under the PM Fasal Bima Yojana, 4.20 crore farmers have benefited.

Agricultural produce worth more than Rs. 5 lakh crore has been sold through the e-NAM platform, which directly connects 1,656 mandis and more than 1.80 crore farmers. Around 8 crore farmers across the country are also getting access to easy and reliable credit through Kisan Credit Cards.

Sh. Shyam Singh Rana said that with Shree Anna gaining global recognition, India has, for the first time, entered the world’s top 10 countries in agricultural exports. Under the PM Matsya Sampada Yojana, fish production in the country has doubled from 95 lakh tonnes in 2014-15 to around 2 crore tonnes at present.

49 codeine syrups, 520 alprazolam tablets seized in Sohna raid

Chandigarh, September 14 - A joint team of the Haryana Drugs Control Department and police seized 49 bottles of codeine-based syrup and 520 tablets of Alprazolam during a raid at Kabir Nagar in Sohna, Gurugram on September 12 in connection with alleged illegal stocking and sale of narcotic medicines, Additional Chief Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Sumita Misra, said here today.

Dr. Misra said the raid was conducted by a team led by Mukesh Kumar, Drugs Control Officer, Gurugram-III, along with police officials, including ASI Vahed Khan, LHC Rachna and others from Sohna police station.

The team conducted the raid at residential premises in Kabir Nagar, Sohna, allegedly being used by Amir, son of Imraan, for illegal stocking and sale of narcotic medicines.

According to the information shared by Dr. Misra, when the team reached the premises, women present inside the house locked the entry gate from inside. The team made efforts to gain entry into the premises, while some neighbours also created a disturbance at the spot.

Meanwhile, a plastic sack containing 49 syrups of codeine and one box containing 520 Alprazolam tablets was thrown from the roof of the house onto open land at the rear of the premises, she said.

Following this, the accused Amir allegedly fled from the spot but later arrested by the Police according to the information provided by the Additional Chief Secretary.

The seized medicines were taken into police possession. A complaint was subsequently submitted to Sohna police station for registration of an FIR under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, Dr Misra said.

The case relates to alleged illegal stocking and sale of medicines containing narcotic/psychotropic substances. She further directed that Codeine-based syrups, Alprazolam and other dual-use prescription drugs shall be sold only against a valid prescription of a registered medical practitioner. All chemists are directed to ensure strict compliance and not to sell or supply these medicines without prescription.

During the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, the portal will serve as a bridge to connect citizens, social and religious organisations, and volunteers with various service activities.

Through the Namo Seva Portal launched by Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini and BJP State President Dr. Archana Gupta, interested citizens can register using their mobile numbers and participate in service activities. The portal is available at www.bjpharyananamosewa.com.

Information about all 12 programmes of the campaign, along with 25 service activities, has been provided on the portal. Any citizen can participate in any service activity as per their availability. Registered volunteers and citizens will continue to receive the latest updates regarding all the programmes through the portal. Volunteers can give their consent to participate in programmes of their choice and mark their attendance at the programme venue through a QR code.

Volunteers will also be able to view their profile, participation in service activities, achievements and information about upcoming programmes on the portal. After completion of a programme, they will also be provided with a participation certificate. Prepared by the BJP IT Department, Haryana, the ‘Namo Seva Portal’ will serve as a digital platform to connect the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan with wider public participation. *Minister Inspects Construction Work of 200-Bed Hospital, Issues Special Directions*

*Ensure Quality and Timely Completion of Development Works: Cabinet Minister Sh. Ranbir Gangwa*

Chandigarh, September 14 - Cabinet Minister Sh. Ranbir Gangwa on Monday held a meeting with officers of the Public Health and Public Works Departments at the new Rest House of the Public Works Department on Bhuna Road in Fatehabad and reviewed the development works being carried out by both departments in the district.

He sought information from the officers regarding the progress of various projects and issued necessary directions.

During the meeting, Cabinet Minister Sh. Ranbir Gangwa reviewed the drinking water, sewerage and other related development works being carried out by the Public Health Department. He directed the officers to complete works related to the general public on priority and take necessary steps to ensure smooth drinking water and sewerage arrangements.

Cabinet Minister Sh. Ranbir Gangwa sought information from Public Works Department officers regarding the progress of roads, buildings, bridges and other ongoing development projects. He said that construction works should be carried out with due quality and as per the prescribed standards. The Cabinet Minister directed the officers to undertake regular field visits. The development works to be undertaken during 2026-27 should be completed at the earliest so that the general public can benefit from them.

Cabinet Minister Sh. Ranbir Gangwa directed the officers to ensure that all ongoing development works are completed within the stipulated timeframe. He also reviewed preparations for development works proposed in the future and directed that all necessary formalities be completed well in time.

He said that the Government’s objective is to provide better basic amenities in every sector. For this, departmental officers should work in coordination with each other and regularly monitor development projects so that the benefits of the schemes reach the general public on time.

After the meeting, the Cabinet Minister inspected the construction work of the 200-bed hospital being built in Sector 9 and directed the officers present to complete all remaining works related to the hospital at the earliest so that the general public can benefit from the facility.

During the meeting, officers of the concerned departments provided the Cabinet Minister with detailed information about the ongoing and proposed development works in the district. The Cabinet Minister directed the officers to ensure effective implementation of the Government’s development schemes on the ground and to resolve any issues arising during the execution of the works on priority.

*Farmers’ Interests Paramount; Review Held on Preparations of Sugar Mills Ahead of Sugarcane Crushing Season*

Chandigarh, September 14 - A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chairman, Haryana Bureau of Public Enterprises, Sh. Mohan Lal Kaushik, at the NIC Conference Hall, Haryana Civil Secretariat, Chandigarh, to review the development works, activities and upcoming plans of various institutions.

Detailed discussions were held regarding preparations for the upcoming sugarcane crushing season. He directed the officers to accord the highest priority to the interests of sugarcane farmers so that they do not face any kind of inconvenience during the crushing season.

He said that the operation of sugar mills should be ensured in a smooth, effective and systematic manner and that farmers should receive payment for their sugarcane within the stipulated time. Special emphasis was also laid on resolving farmers’ problems within a stipulated timeframe and ensuring better coordination among the concerned institutions.

Sh. Kaushik said that farmers and the agriculture sector play an important role in Haryana’s economy and rural system. Therefore, every issue concerning sugarcane farmers needs to be addressed with sensitivity and priority. He directed the officers to complete all necessary preparations before the upcoming crushing season so that farmers do not face any difficulty, from transporting sugarcane to the mills to receiving payment.

Sh. Kaushik said, “Providing facilities to farmers, ensuring timely payment for sugarcane, smooth operation of sugar mills and enhancing the efficiency of public and cooperative institutions are the priorities of the Government. All concerned institutions should work with complete commitment and in mutual coordination to provide better arrangements and facilities to farmers.”

He said that the Haryana Government is fully committed to the interests of farmers and is continuously working towards further strengthening a transparent, accountable and farmer-friendly system. All necessary steps will be taken to ensure better facilities and timely payment to farmers during the upcoming sugarcane crushing season.

He said that the core objective of this joint review meeting was to establish strong and effective inter-departmental coordination among all these institutions so that the direct, transparent and prompt benefits of policies related to the agriculture and cooperative sectors reach every farmer and the general public at the grassroots level.

OSD to the Chief Minister Bharat Bhushan Bharti and Special Secretary, Finance Department, Manoj Kumar, along with senior officers from various departments and representatives of the concerned institutions, participated in the meeting. During the meeting, officers gave presentations on the functioning, progress, development activities and upcoming plans of their respective institutions.

Representatives of HARCO Bank, HAFED, Haryana Dairy Development Federation, Haryana State Cooperative Federation Sugar Mills and Cooperative Sugar Mills at Karnal, Sonipat, Panipat, Palwal, Jind, Shahabad, Meham, Kaithal, Rohtak and Gohana participated in the meeting. Besides, representatives of Haryana Financial Corporation, CONFED, HARCOFED and various other institutions were also present.

During the meeting, major undertakings considered the pillars of Haryana’s rural economy and cooperative structure, including HARCO Bank, HAFED, Haryana Dairy Development Cooperative Federation and Sugar Federation, ensured their active participation. In addition, senior representatives of the Haryana Financial Corporation, which plays an important role in strengthening the state’s financial, distribution and consumer welfare system, were also present. All these important institutions presented detailed accounts of their current progress and efficiency through PPT presentations and also provided a clear overview of their future strategies.

*Boost to Sports Facilities in Palwal, Synthetic Court Raises Players’ Morale*

*District’s First Synthetic Tennis Court Inaugurated; Sports Minister of State Gaurav Gautam Plays Tennis and Netball with Players*

Chandigarh, September 14 - Another important step has been taken towards modernising and improving sports facilities in Palwal. The district’s first synthetic tennis court was inaugurated at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Stadium late yesterday evening by Haryana Minister of State for Sports, Youth Empowerment and Entrepreneurship, Sh. Gaurav Gautam.

This multipurpose synthetic court can be used for both tennis and netball practice and competitions. This will provide better sports facilities to players in the district.

Sports Minister Gaurav Gautam inspected the court and interacted with the players to learn about their requirements and problems. Director, Sports Department, Ram Mehar Singh, was also present on the occasion. The Minister of State for Sports said that the objective of the Government is not merely to provide playgrounds to players, but to create a better sporting environment equipped with modern facilities and quality training, enabling them to showcase their talent at the district, state, national and international levels.

The Sports Minister thereafter inspected the Indoor Stadium in Palwal and reviewed the progress of the ongoing development works. He sought information from the officers about various facilities. He said that a synthetic court has been prepared at the Indoor Stadium and work is also underway to make it soundproof and air-conditioned.

Taking serious note of the shortcomings noticed during the inspection, Minister of State for Sports Sh. Gaurav Gautam directed the Director of the Sports Department to get them rectified immediately. He said that there should be no compromise on the quality of construction works and that the convenience of players should remain the top priority. Directions were also issued to ensure regular maintenance of the stadium facilities.

Encouraging the players, the Minister of State for Sports himself played tennis and netball with them. He urged the players to focus particularly on regular practice, discipline and fitness. He said that Palwal has no dearth of talent and that the Government is committed to providing players with better platforms, modern facilities and quality training.

*‘Ashirwad ke Diye’ to Light Up Development Projects Across Haryana on September 17: Ranbir Gangwa*

Chandigarh, September 14: As part of the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ being observed across Haryana from September 17 to October 17, various programmes and activities are being organised across the State. As part of the campaign, a large number of earthen lamps will now be lit as ‘Ashirwad ke diye’ at development infrastructure projects across the State. Haryana Minister for Public Health Engineering and Public Works (Buildings and Roads), Sh. Ranbir Gangwa, has issued directions to officials of both departments in this regard.

Sh. Gangwa directed that on the evening of September 17, a large number of earthen lamps filled with mustard oil should be lit at new development projects constructed by the two departments across the State during the last 12 years. The initiative will cover new buildings, roundabouts, hospitals, waterworks, sewage treatment plants (STPs), roads, bridges, flyovers and other newly constructed infrastructure.

He said that these programmes would be organised as a special campaign at the sub-division, division and circle levels across the State. Both departments have also been directed to identify suitable locations for organising these programmes.

Sh. Gangwa said that October 7 marks the completion of 25 years of Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi’s public life. The ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ will be taken forward across the State with public participation, reflecting the spirit of service, dedication and public welfare. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi, the country has given a new direction to service and development, and Haryana is also moving forward in the same spirit. The earthen lamps lit at development projects will symbolise the commitment to service, dedication, development and public welfare.
