CHANDIGARH, 08.05.25-Viksit Bharat Abhiyan Committee and Department of Commerce at Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh, organised an informative session on ‘Drafting and Writing the Right to Information (RTI) Applications’.

The workshop aimed to equip students with essential skills to effectively utilise the RTI Act as a tool for transparency and accountability. The resource person- Dr. Gagandeep Kaur, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce at the college, provided comprehensive guidance on the procedures, techniques, and best practices for drafting clear and impactful RTI applications. To enhance engagement and reinforce learning, a quiz was conducted during the session. The participants expressed appreciation for the practical knowledge and empowerment that the session offered.

Officiating Principal Ms. Neena Sharma underscored the critical role of RTI in a democratic society and the importance of citizens being aware of their rights. She added that such initiatives are a reflection of the college’s commitment to holistic student development, fostering not only academic excellence but also a strong sense of civic responsibility.
