Chandigarh, 5 September: Student Council of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women celebrated Teachers’ Day with a heartfelt cultural programme dedicated to expressing gratitude and appreciation for their ‘gurus’. The celebration provided an opportunity for the faculty and students to cherish their shared journey, celebrate the bond between teachers and learners, and reflect on the lasting influence of teachers in shaping lives and envisioning a better future.
Featuring a vibrant array of performances, including melodious songs and energetic dance presentations, the celebration filled the teachers’ hearts with joy. Students also engaged the faculty in a series of fun-filled games, creating an atmosphere of camaraderie and joy. The celebrations culminated in a cake-cutting ceremony, adding a festive touch to the memorable occasion.
Officiating Principal Ms. Neena Sharma appreciated the Student Council for thoughtfully organising the celebration and acknowledged the students’ gesture of gratitude towards their teachers. She emphasised the enduring role of teachers in shaping individuals, institutions and society, observing that no nation can rise above the quality of its teachers. She further noted that faith in teachers reflects faith in society and its institutions.
