Chandigarh, 3 September: Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women organised an insightful session on ‘Angel Investment/VC Funding Opportunities’. As part of the initiative, a group of 40 students visited PU-IIT Ropar Regional Accelerator for Holistic Innovations (PI-Rahi) Foundation, gaining valuable exposure to the dynamic ecosystem of innovation, entrepreneurship and start-ups.

Prof. Rajat Sandhir, Director, PI-Rahi Innovation Cluster, along with his team, introduced the students to the functioning of the innovation cluster and provided valuable insights into the start-up journey. The interactive session familiarised students with the role of angel investors and venture capitalists (VCs) in supporting start-ups through financial investment, mentorship and strategic guidance at different stages of development. The session was followed by a guided tour of the laboratories, start-up labs and co-working spaces at the innovation cluster. The visit enabled students to observe first-hand the infrastructure and work environment that facilitate innovation, experimentation, collaboration and the development of entrepreneurial ventures.

Officiating Principal Ms. Neena Sharma said that such experiential initiatives play an important role in nurturing an entrepreneurial mindset among students. She emphasised that exposure to real-world start-up ecosystems enables young learners to understand the opportunities and challenges associated with entrepreneurship and equips them to transform innovative ideas into viable ventures.
