Chandigarh, May 25, 2026:T.S. Central State Library, Sector 17, Chandigarh organized an informative and inspiring “Awareness Program on Cancer” in the Library Auditorium on 25 May 2026. The program aimed to spread awareness about cancer prevention, early detection, and the importance of emotional and social support for cancer patients and survivors.
The session was conducted by Ms. Meenu Girdhar, Cancer Community Leader of NGO Sanjeevani – Life Beyond Cancer, who shared valuable insights on warning signs, preventive measures, healthy lifestyle practices, and the significance of timely medical consultation in case of cancer. She also motivated the audience through real-life experiences and emphasized the role of positivity and community support in the journey beyond cancer.
Participants actively interacted with the resource person during the session and raised several awareness-related queries, making the program highly engaging and meaningful.
Mrs. Neelam Bansal, Library Incharge appreciated the initiative and highlighted the importance of organizing health awareness programs in public libraries for the welfare of the community.
The program was organized by Dr. Neeza Singh, Librarian, as part of the library’s continuous efforts to promote social awareness, health education, and community engagement through meaningful public outreach activities.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks to the resource person and participants for their valuable presence and contribution.
