CHANDIGARH, 25.12.25-Government College of Education, Sector 20-D, Chandigarh, delivered an outstanding performance at the 77th Panjab University Annual Athletic Meet 2025–26, held at the Sports Complex, Sector 7, Chandigarh, from 22nd to 24th December 2025.

A total of 20 athletes (11 men and 9 women) from the college participated enthusiastically in various track and field events and brought laurels to the institution through their remarkable achievements. The college secured an impressive 19 medals, comprising 6 Gold, 5 Silver, and 8 Bronze medals.

It was a moment of great pride for the institution as Ms. Vandana Ekka was adjudged Best Athlete in the Women’s Section (C Division). Adding further glory, Government College of Education, Sector 20-D, Chandigarh, won the Overall Championship Trophy in the Women’s Category (C Division).

Principal Dr. Sapna Nanda congratulated the athletes for their exemplary performance and emphasized the importance of sports and co-curricular activities in the holistic development of students. She appreciated the sustained efforts of students and faculty in upholding the college’s tradition of excellence.

Dr. Neelam Paul, Sports Incharge, was specially acknowledged for her committed guidance, training, and constant motivation, which played a pivotal role in the college’s remarkable success at the meet.
In addition to its achievements in sports, the college has also demonstrated commendable and sustained excellence in co-curricular activities, securing the Runner-Up position in the Panjab University Zonal and Inter-Zonal Youth Festival, and further bagging the Second Position in the Panjab University Zonal and Inter-Zonal Skill-in-Teaching and Teaching Aid Preparation Competitions held recently in 2025, thereby reflecting the institution’s vibrant, holistic, professionally enriching, and pedagogically robust academic environment.
