*223 Candidates are contesting for Lok Sabha Elections in Haryana

*Polling to take place on May 25th in the state

Chandigarh, May 9 – Haryana Chief Electoral officer, Sh. Anurag Agarwal, stated that after the process of withdrawal of nomination papers, a total of 223 candidates are now contesting for the Lok Sabha-2024 elections in the state, including 207 male and 16 female candidates. Additionally, there will be a by-election for the Karnal Assembly seat, for which a total of 9 candidates are now in the electoral arena.

Giving more information in this regard, Sh. Agarwal mentioned that there are a total of 14 candidates in the Ambala Lok Sabha constituency, including 12 male and 2 female candidates. Similarly, in the Kurukshetra Lok Sabha constituency, there are a total of 31 candidates, comprising 30 male and 1 female candidates. In the Sirsa Lok Sabha constituency, there are 19 candidates (18 male and 1 female candidate), in the Hisar Lok Sabha constituency, there are 28 candidates (25 male and 3 female), in the Karnal Lok Sabha constituency, there are a total of 19 candidates (17 male and 2 female), and in the Sonipat Lok Sabha constituency, there are 22 candidates (male).

He further stated that in the Rohtak Lok Sabha constituency, there are a total of 26 candidates (24 male and 2 female), in the Bhiwani-Mahendragarh Lok Sabha constituency, there are 17 candidates (15 male and 2 female), in the Gurugram Lok Sabha constituency, there are 23 candidates (22 male and 1 female), and in the Faridabad Lok Sabha constituency, there are a total of 24 candidates (22 male and 2 female). Additionally, there are 9 candidates (male) for the Karnal Assembly seat.

Sh. Agarwal stated that polling for the Lok Sabha seats in Haryana and the Karnal Assembly by-election will take place on May 25th. He appealed to all voters in the state to cast their votes on that day and exercise their voting rights. Chandigarh May 9-The Anti-Human Trafficking Unit of Haryana Police has successfully reunited a 12-year-old girl, missing for the past six years from Prayagraj , Uttar Pradesh, with her family. The girl, who is mentally challenged, had been missing since 2019.

ASI Rajesh Kumar's Dedication and Sensitivity Lead to the Breakthrough: This remarkable achievement was made possible due to the relentless efforts and sensitivity of ASI Rajesh Kumar, who is part of the State Crime Branch's Anti-Human Trafficking Unit in Panchkula. His dedication to the case caught the attention of Haryana Police Director General Shatrujeet Kapur, who commended his efforts and encouraged him to continue serving with the same zeal and commitment.

The Journey to Finding the Missing Girl:

On January 29, 2024, the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit received information about a missing girl, approximately 18 years old (current age), residing at a Child Care Institute in Narayangarh. The girl had been living at the Yamunanagar BalKunj Chhachhrauli for the past six years after being found abandoned at the Ambala Railway Station on November 21, 2019.ASI Rajesh Kumar was assigned to investigate the case. He conducted several video calls with the missing girl, counselling her patiently. Due to her mental condition, she was unable to provide much information about herself. However, she repeatedly uttered the word "Mughalsarai," which became a crucial clue in the search for her family.

Collaboration and Perseverance Yield Results: ASI Kumar reached out to police stations in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, seeking leads based on the girl's limited information. They recorded her voice and meticulously pieced together small clues from various sources to track down her family.Finally, after a relentless search, the girl's family was located. Through a video call, they were able to identify their long-lost daughter. Overwhelmed with emotions, they expressed their immense gratitude to the Haryana Police for their unwavering efforts and sensitivity.

A Family Reunited, Tears of Joy:The girl's parents were overjoyed to be reunited with their daughter after six years of despair. Tears streamed down their faces as they embraced their precious child. The emotional moment touched the hearts of all the police officers present.The girl's mother recounted the incident of her daughter going missing from the Prayagraj Railway Station in 2019. She mentioned the girl's mental challenges that affected her speech and comprehension abilities. She expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the Haryana Police for their tireless efforts and compassion.

IGNOU is awakening the spirit of education among prisoners in Haryana Jails

Chandigarh, May 9- Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is working to connect prisoners in various jails of Haryana with higher education and awaken them to the importance of education. Study centers have been established in jails by IGNOU for prisoners who have passed class 12 and want to pursue higher education. If a prisoner is pursuing a graduation degree or any other higher course, then IGNOU makes arrangements for their studies and examinations free of cost during their jail tenure.
Sharing information in this regard university spokesperson said that the prisoners in the jails are trying to dispel the darkness of their lives with the light of education. Education programs are being run under IGNOU to rehabilitate the future of criminals. The aim is that the criminals can make good use of their time spent in jail. In the last three years, a total of 792 prisoners in various jails of Haryana have taken steps towards successfully acquiring higher education.
The spokesperson said that during this period, hundreds of prisoners have taken admission in various courses, who will now become educated and be able to join the mainstream of society. The prisoners are also motivating other prisoners to study while in jail. Prisoners are being constantly encouraged to get educated so that after serving their sentence, they can build their future for the better.

Several players, students and representatives of organizations to participate in the voter awareness walkathon

Chandigarh, May 9 - Additional Deputy Commissioner, Karnal, Sh. Akhil Pilani said that to fulfill the objective of voting, private organizations are now coming forward to cooperate along with the administration. The aim is to ensure maximum voter turnout in the Karnal Lok Sabha constituency and Karnal Assembly by-elections. A voter awareness walkathon is being organized by a private institution on May 12 at 6 am from the NDRF Chowk. In this walkathon, several players, students, and representatives of organizations will participate.

Sh. Pilani said the administration is also cooperating in this program, and duty has been assigned to different departments, including the District Higher Education Department inviting colleges, NCC cadets, NSS volunteers, as well as players from the Sports Department, and NGOs from the Red Cross Society.

He said that voting for the Lok Sabha elections in Haryana will take place on May 25. However, in Karnal, along with the Lok Sabha elections, voting for the Karnal Assembly by-elections will also take place on May 25. In these elections, special emphasis is being placed on the promotion campaign by focusing on special propaganda activities to achieve the goal of 100% voting, as per the orders of District Election Officer, Sh. Uttam Singh. Sveep activities are being continuously organized throughout the entire Lok Sabha constituency. MDU's UG and PG exams begin

Chandigarh, May 9- Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) Rohtak has commenced today the undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) examinations.

MDU, Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Rajbir Singh today visited the examination centers in the university campus and affiliated colleges in Rohtak and reviewed the examination arrangements.

Prof. Rajbir Singh took feedback from the examination center superintendents and examiners on the examination arrangements. He also interacted with the examinees. MDU, Dean, Academic Affairs Dr. AS Mann was also present during the visit.

The Vice-Chancellor and the Dean first made a surprise inspection of the Jat College, Rohtak. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Rajbir Singh reviewed the examinations conducted in the MDU campus's Faculty of Law, IMSAR, and IHTM.
