MC Chandigarh cracks down on non-compliance with biometric attendance system

Chandigarh, June 6:- Taking serious note of non-compliance in registering for the Aadhar-based Biometric Attendance System, the Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh has ordered an immediate freeze on further employee registrations from 7th June, 2025. This decision is aimed at identifying and eliminating ghost employees and ensuring accountability among the workforce.

The intent is to establish transparency in financial transactions and verify that only genuine, active employees are on the payroll.

The Commissioner reiterated the Corporation’s commitment to improving administrative efficiency and eliminating irregularities in the system. He stated that all employees are expected to maintain regular attendance and ensure their Aadhar-based registration is active and operational, as it directly impacts their salary release.
