Chandigarh February 22, 2023: Contributing to the
ongoing Amrit Mahotsav celebrations on the occasion of 75 years of
Independence , Sant Nirankari Mission in the Holy presence of Satguru
Mata Sudiksha Ji Maharaj and Nirankari Raj Pita Ji, will launch
‘Swachh Jal -Swachh Man’ (Clean water Clean Mind) under the Amrit
Project’ on 26th February 2023 which will be conducted countrywide
.The main objective of this project is to plan and implement various
activities for its ‘water conservation’ and its preservation. The main
focus of this project is to clean the water bodies and encourage the
local public through creating an awareness campaign.

Social Welfare Activities such as cleanliness and tree
plantation campaign was initiated by Baba Hardev Singh Ji and taking
the inspiration from His teachings, this year Sant Nirankari Mission
under the able guidance and leadership of Nirankari Satguru Mata
Sudiksha Ji Maharaj, Amrit Project is being organized.

Shri Navneet Pathak Ji Sanyojak branch Chandigarh said that under the
Amrit Project Lake Area at sector 42, Lake Area at Dhanas and under
bridge adjoining Bal Bhawan sector 23, Chandigarh Cleanliness drive
will be organized on 26.02.2023.

Shri Joginder Sukhija, Secretary of Sant Nirankari Mission, elucidated
about this Amrit Project. This project will be organized on a large
scale in 730 cities, 27 states and Union territories in about 1000
places across India, mainly in Andhra Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar
Islands, Assam, Bihar, Chandigarh, Chhattisgarh, Daman and Diu, Delhi,
Gujarat, Goa Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand,
Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Punjab,
Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand,
West Bengal etc..

In this project, about 1.5 lakh volunteers of
Nirankari Mission will participate to make the water conservation and
water bodies such as beaches, rivers, lakes, ponds, wells, puddles,
johads, various springs, water tanks, drains and water streams etc.
clean and pure. Almost all the branches of the Mission will partake in
this campaign and if necessary individual branches will also
contribute collectively in all these activities in the designated
areas.

Cleanliness of main embankments of southern region of
India under Amrit project’ including Konkan Belt from Surat, Mumbai to
Goa, Karnataka, Kerala coast lines of Malabar Coast and Western Ghats
bordering Arabian Sea and South of Coromandel Coast The east coast
areas will be covered by volunteers. In addition, the Bay of Bengal in
the east, and the Kaveri Delta in the South will also be covered.

RIVERS: Major rivers have also been included in this
campaign, mainly Beas, Ganga, Yamuna and Ghagra from the northern
region, Chambal, Betwa, narmada, Krishna, Tapti, Son river from the
central region, Sabarmati, Mahi from the western region, Mahanadi,
Godavari from the eastern region and Krishna, Kaveri, Kollidam etc
from the southern region are prominent.

METHODS USED FOR CLEANLINESS OF BEACHES AND RIVERS:
Cleaning of beaches, Ghats and bank of rivers will be done by the
volunteers of the Mission by removing plastic waste, waste material,
bushes, waste food items etc.

Apart from this, moss found in natural and artificial water resources
will be removed with the help of net sticks and other equipment’s. In
order to enhance the environment and its beauty, plants and other
shrubs will be planted by group of volunteers.

AWARENESS CAMPAIGN: This activity is indeed the most
important aspect for cleaning both the manmade and natural water
bodies. To create the awareness among the common people, slogans,
banners, hoardings, messages about importance of water and its
conservation, optimum use of water resources, awareness of water borne
diseases etc will be displayed .The message will be spread live
through streets plays, rallies, songs, folk dances, other cultural
activities .The same will also be illustrated on social media platform
as well.

Undoubtedly this project is commendable as it helps to conserve the
environment by maintaining the ecological balance and its beauty.
These public Welfare Projects play a crucial role in conserving the
natural resources. Along with this exploitation of these resources
should be prohibited.
