*Union Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate the Martyrs’ Memorial dedicated to the First War of Independence on November 5: Energy Minister Anil Vij*
*The Energy Minister appealed to people to attend the rally to be held at Gandhi Ground in Ambala Cantt on the inauguration occasion in large numbers*
Chandigarh, October 28 — Haryana’s Energy, Transport and Labour Minister, Sh. Anil Vij said that Union Home Minister Mr. Amit Shah is coming on November 5 to inaugurate the "Aazadi ki Pehli Ladai ka Shaheed Smarak" built in Ambala Cantonment. The memorial will be inaugurated first, followed by a large workers’ rally at Gandhi Ground. He said that it is significant for people to attend the rally because they will be participating in an event honouring a martyrs’ memorial. After the inauguration on November 5, the Martyrs’ Memorial will be opened to the public from November 6. He said the government has also issued instructions for students from various schools and educational institutions in Haryana to be shown the memorial, so that young people learn that the freedom struggle began in Ambala before Meerut in 1857. He urged people to attend the rally at Gandhi Ground, Ambala Cantonment, in large numbers on November 5, as it will mark the inauguration of a national-level memorial.
Energy Minister Anil Vij said he had been working for the construction of the Martyrs’ Memorial for the past 25–30 years. He said that books taught that the Congress fought the independence struggle, but when he read further, he found that in 1857—before the Congress was even founded—an armed struggle for independence was fought across India, and it began in Ambala. He said documents show that in 1857, at 9 a.m., ten hours before the uprising in Meerut, the 60th and 5th Native Infantry regiments sounded the bugle of the freedom struggle at Ambala Cantonment. Yet history never remembered those heroes who were tied to trees and shot, or those upon whom oil mills were operated; the nation never paid tribute to those martyrs, which is painful. The martyrs of 1857 were also sons of the motherland who joined the struggle for independence. He said that anyone who took even one step out of their home for independence deserves homage.
*“I raised the demand for the construction of the Martyrs’ Memorial several times in the Assembly; approval was granted when our government came to power” — Anil Vij*
Energy Minister, Sh. Anil Vij said that the First War of Independence took place across the country in 1857, but no one remembered it, and no memorial existed anywhere to showcase that struggle. He said he stood in the Assembly several times to demand the memorial’s construction and that there is an official record of this. At one point, he said, he even compelled the Congress government, but it did not build the memorial. However, when the BJP government came to power in 2014, it approved the construction of a national-level memorial.
*The memorial was built at a cost of ₹800 crore; history will be showcased through modern technology: Vij*
Energy Minister, Sh. Anil Vij said that the complete history of the Martyrs’ Memorial dedicated to the First War of Independence of 1857 will be displayed there. The places where battles were fought in 1857—in Haryana, Bihar, Punjab, and elsewhere—will be presented through modern technology showing the history of the war. The Martyrs’ Memorial has been built at a cost of approximately ₹800 crore, and he is confident that people from across India will come to see it. He believes that when foreign guests visit, they will come to see the Martyrs’ Memorial along with the Taj Mahal; for this reason, a helipad facility has also been provided. Energy Minister Anil Vij said that it will take about six hours to see the vast Martyrs’ Memorial. Guides will provide visitors with complete information. There will be an open-air theatre with a capacity of about 2,500 people, where an evening light, laser and sound show will be projected on a large lotus-shaped structure.
*The lotus-shaped memorial tower in the memorial will be the centre of attraction: Vij*
Energy Minister Anil Vij said that once, the son of former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda questioned whether Anil Vij had made his party’s election symbol into the memorial. Sh. Anil Vij responded that while the lotus is indeed the party’s election symbol, the lotus flower and roti were symbolically sent from one regiment to another during the 1857 struggle; if a regiment accepted the roti, it was understood that the regiment was ready. Roti and lotus flowers were sent across the country. He said that when he told Deepender Hooda to read history, he understood and did not speak on the matter again.
Energy Minister, Sh. Anil Vij said that the Martyrs’ Memorial includes a 68-metre-high lotus-shaped memorial tower with two high-speed lifts. A museum has also been built inside the lotus flower, which will be a major attraction. He said a gallery has also been created in the memorial for paying tribute to the martyrs, and everyone entering it will be digitally recorded.

He appealed to farmers not to burn stubble in their fields and to contribute to environmental protection by using available agricultural machinery and scientific techniques. *Gujarat’s Entrepreneurial Strength and Haryana’s Industrial Network Can Unlock New Investment Opportunities- Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini*
*Haryana Not Just an Investment Destination, but a Reliable Partner in Business Growth, says Chief Minister*
*Chief Minister Addresses Business Leaders at Investor Roadshow in Gandhinagar*
Chandigarh, October 28- Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini has invited industrialists and entrepreneurs from Gujarat to expand their business operations in Haryana, stating that Gujarat’s entrepreneurial strength and Haryana’s robust industrial base can together create fresh opportunities for investment and economic growth in both states. He said the Haryana Government aims not merely to attract investment but to become a trusted partner in the next phase of business expansion and growth.
The Chief Minister was addressing business leaders at an investor roadshow held in Gandhinagar on Wednesday, the second day of his Gujarat visit.
Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said Haryana offers immense potential for setting up new manufacturing units, offices, warehouses and technology centres. He urged entrepreneurs from Gujarat to consider Haryana in their business expansion plans, explore the state's industrial estates and identify investment opportunities suited to their requirements.
The Chief Minister said Gujarat, the birthplace and ‘karmabhoomi’ of Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi, has earned a distinct reputation in India and across the world for its achievements in trade, industry and entrepreneurship. Surat’s diamond and textile industries, Ahmedabad’s industrial growth and Gujarat’s strong presence in chemicals, pharmaceuticals and manufacturing are notable examples of this success. Haryana, too, has been a ‘karmabhoomi’ of Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi, he said, adding that the experience of Gujarat’s entrepreneurs, combined with Haryana’s industrial and logistics network, could open new avenues for mutually beneficial cooperation.
*Strategic Location and Connectivity Among Haryana’s Major Strengths*
Highlighting Haryana’s advantages, the Chief Minister said the state's strategic geographical location is one of its greatest strengths. Nearly 57 percent of Haryana falls within the National Capital Region (NCR). The Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway, Delhi-Mumbai Expressway and major industrial corridors connect the state with important commercial and consumer markets. Access to airports in Delhi, Chandigarh and Noida also facilitates the movement of investors, employees and business partners.
He said access to markets, transportation, efficient supply chains and timely delivery of products are critical requirements for any industry. Haryana’s connectivity and proximity to the national capital play a significant role in meeting these needs. These advantages are making the state an attractive destination not only for manufacturing but also for logistics, warehousing, technology services and corporate operations.
*Industrial Network to Boost MSMEs and Local Supply Chains*
The Chief Minister said Haryana has a well-established industrial base across sectors including automobiles, engineering, electronics, textiles, food processing and pharmaceuticals. The state has 56 industrial estates, while initiatives are underway to develop MSME clusters in 143 blocks.
Inviting Gujarat’s entrepreneurs to become part of this industrial ecosystem, he said investments by large companies generate not only direct employment but also opportunities for local suppliers, small industries and businesses engaged in transportation, packaging, maintenance and technical services.
The Haryana Government, he said, is committed to ensuring that the benefits of investment reach the state's youth, workers and small entrepreneurs, while enabling local industries to integrate with larger industrial supply chains.
Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said Haryana has also established a strong presence in information technology, digital services and corporate operations alongside its manufacturing sector. Gurugram is home to offices of more than 250 Fortune 500 companies, around 270 Global Capability Centres (GCCs) and 19 unicorn companies. This reflects the state's growing potential for investment in technology-driven businesses, digital services and global corporate operations.
He said automobile and machinery manufacturers can benefit from Haryana’s established industrial network, while companies in textiles, electronics, pharmaceuticals and solar energy can explore opportunities to establish new units. Significant investment potential also exists in logistics, warehousing and industrial infrastructure.
The Chief Minister pointed out that Haryana contributes approximately 3.8 percent to the national economy despite accounting for only about 1.34 percent of India's total geographical area. This, he said, reflects the state's economic strength and effective utilisation of available resources.
*Focus on Timely Incentives and Simplified Procedures for Investors*
The Chief Minister said the Haryana Government is committed to simplifying procedures, expanding digital services and ensuring timely access to clear information for investors.
During the financial years 2023-24 and 2024-25, Haryana utilised 96 percent of its allocated incentive budget, compared with an average utilisation of 83 percent over the past six years.
He said the government's endeavour is to provide investors with speed, support and confidence while planning and implementing their projects. Transparency and adherence to timelines in investment-related procedures play a crucial role in accelerating industrial development.
*Shared Cultural Heritage to Strengthen Business Cooperation*
Referring to the longstanding cultural ties between Haryana and Gujarat, the Chief Minister said the relationship between the two states extends beyond trade and industry.
He said Kurukshetra in Haryana is the sacred land where Lord Shri Krishna delivered the message of ‘Karma Yoga’ to Arjuna, while Dwarka in Gujarat is a major centre of faith for crores of devotees.
The cultural affinity and entrepreneurial traditions of both states, he said, can provide fresh direction to economic cooperation. Gujarat’s rich trading heritage and Haryana’s industrial capabilities can together create a strong foundation for expanding industries, employment and business activities in both states.
Inviting entrepreneurs from Gujarat to visit Haryana and discuss their next phase of business expansion, the Chief Minister said the state government wants industrialists from both states to collaborate in establishing new industries, strengthening local supply chains and contributing to the vision of Viksit Bharat.
*Haryana’s New Industrial Policy Among the Best in the Country, Offers Attractive Incentives and Subsidies- Rao Narbir Singh*
Haryana Industries and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh said the new industrial policy formulated by the state government under the guidance of Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini is among the best in the country. The policy provides extensive incentives and subsidies to encourage industrial investment.
He expressed confidence that Haryana’s industry-friendly policies would not only attract investors but also generate new opportunities for industrial growth and employment in the state.
The Industries Minister said the government has made concerted efforts to frame a policy that addresses the requirements of industries while offering improved facilities and incentives to investors. A key feature of the policy is that suggestions from industrialists were incorporated during its formulation to understand their actual needs and practical challenges and address them effectively.
Assuring investors of the government's full support, Rao Narbir Singh said that, as Industries and Commerce Minister, he would make every possible effort to ensure that the government lives up to the expectations and trust with which investors come to Haryana.
He urged industrialists to invest in the state and become partners in Haryana’s industrial development journey.
*Haryana Offers Immense Investment Potential in Automobiles, Textiles, Engineering, Food Processing and Logistics- Dr. Amit Agrawal*
Commissioner and Secretary, Industries and Commerce Department, Dr. Amit Agrawal, said Gujarat has demonstrated to the world what can be achieved when entrepreneurship, manufacturing excellence and innovation come together.
He said entrepreneurs from Gujarat have established a distinct identity not only nationally but also internationally in sectors such as chemicals, pharmaceuticals, textiles and engineering. Gujarat’s real strength lies in the vision of its entrepreneurs, their ability to identify emerging opportunities and their expertise in transforming those opportunities into successful business ventures.
Dr. Amit Agrawal said Haryana has also developed a strong industrial base in automobiles, auto components, engineering, electronics, textiles, food processing and technology-driven services. Although the two states have followed different paths of industrial development, they share a common objective of creating opportunities for businesses to grow and contributing to the country's economic progress.
He said Haryana can emerge as a strong potential partner for entrepreneurs planning to establish new factories, enter new business verticals, expand their product portfolios or access new markets.
Haryana's strategic location offers significant advantages for reaching new markets, connecting with customers and expanding business operations. Its proximity to Delhi-NCR provides access to large consumer markets, industrial buyers and corporate enterprises.
Entrepreneurs, he said, can continue their existing business operations while expanding manufacturing capacity, distribution networks, warehousing and logistics facilities in Haryana.
Dr. Amit Agrawal said the Haryana Government welcomes investments that bring new technologies, strengthen supply chains, create opportunities for local suppliers and promote value addition across industries.
He said Gurugram has emerged as a major hub for global business and technology services. More than 270 Global Capability Centres are operating in Gurugram, accounting for approximately 65 percent of such centres across the National Capital Region.
He further said Haryana offers immense investment opportunities in logistics, warehousing and urban development. He invited industrialists and companies from Gujarat to capitalise on these opportunities and expand their business operations in Haryana.
Chief Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Sh. Rajesh Khullar, Director General, Industries and Commerce Department, Sh. Yash Garg, Managing Director, Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation, Sh. Vinay Pratap Singh, Additional Managing Director, Sh. Anirudh Yadav, Joint Director, Information, Public Relations and Languages Department, Sh. Manav Malik and other senior officers were present on the occasion.
