*Haryana Rolls Out 5-Minute Daily Yoga Break Across Industrial Units; One Trained Worker for Every 50 Employees Within a Month*

*The state has kicked off its ambitious Y-Break programme, announced in the Chief Minister’s 2026-27 Budget, aiming to reach every industrial unit with energising yoga camps and training. For units operating on shifts, dedicated, trained workers will ensure everyone can participate*

Chandigarh, August 17 - Haryana has launched a dynamic, time-bound initiative to bring a daily five-minute “Y-Break” (Yoga Break at Workplace) to every industrial unit. Each workplace will host yoga camps and training sessions, with at least one employee per 50 workers trained within a month to lead these revitalising sessions, revealed Additional Chief Secretary, AYUSH Department, Dr. Sumita Misra.

In industrial units operating in shifts, the programme provides for at least one trained employee for every group of 50 employees in each working shift, making the workplace yoga initiative applicable across shift operations as well.

The programme follows Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini’s Budget Announcement 2026-27 proposing the observance of a daily five-minute Y-Break for the workforce across all industrial units in Haryana.

The AYUSH Department has written to the Industries and Commerce Department asking it to disseminate the advisory to all industrial units and industrial associations in Haryana with directions for time-bound implementation in accordance with the prescribed Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).

Dr. Misra said the General Manager, District Industries Centre (GM-DIC) in each district will coordinate with the District Ayurveda Officer to prepare a schedule of yoga camps and training sessions.

This coordinated effort guarantees that every industrial unit in the district benefits from the programme, with Yoga Sahayaks guiding the process. Within a month, each industrial unit will select one or two employees for training, ensuring at least one trained facilitator per 50 workers. These chosen employees, guided by Yoga Sahayaks, will soon lead Y-Break sessions right at their workplaces.

As part of the advisory, the workforce in the Industries and Commerce Department has been asked to voluntarily adopt and practise a five-minute Y-Break during working hours. This initiative aims to uplift employees’ physical, mental, and emotional well-being, nurturing a healthier, more productive, and stress-free work environment.

Dr. Misra said the Y-Break protocol is a scientifically designed routine consisting of simple Yogasanas, Pranayama and meditation techniques. It can be performed at the workplace without requiring any special equipment or infrastructure. Created by the Ministry of AYUSH, the protocol is designed to help employees de-stress, recharge, and regain focus, boosting workplace efficiency, productivity, and overall well-being.

*Official App and Videos to Be Used*

The advisory calls for making the Ministry of AYUSH's Y-Break protocol accessible to employees and encouraging them to follow the prescribed sequence.

Employees are also to be encouraged to use the official Y-Break mobile application and instructional videos for guided practice. Reference material, including the Y-Break booklet and videos, is available through the Ministry of AYUSH/MDNIY Y-Break resources.

The government has, however, made clear that participation is to remain voluntary. Industrial units have been asked to ensure that the five-minute sessions are conducted safely and without disrupting their normal functioning.

The advisory urges awareness campaigns to spotlight the health benefits of regular yoga and inspires workers to weave the Y-Break into their everyday routines.

Dr. Misra said the initiative is being taken in compliance with the Chief Minister’s Budget Announcement for 2026-27, with the Industries and Commerce Department being asked to take the programme to industrial units and associations throughout Haryana and ensure its time-bound implementation as per the SOP.

Haryana Sets Up Revolving Fund to Return Trap Money to Anti-Corruption Complainants

Chandigarh, August 17: The Haryana Government has put in place a dedicated financial mechanism to ensure that complainants who pay bribe money to facilitate vigilance traps are not left out of pocket during the course of corruption investigations.

Through a notification issued by Chief Secretary Sh. Anurag Rastogi, the government has constituted the Haryana Vigilance Bureau Revolving Funds, specifically to reimburse the bribe money provided by complainants for laying traps. The fund will be administered by the Director General, State Vigilance & Anti-Corruption Bureau, Haryana.

The move effectively creates a formal reimbursement channel for citizens whose money is used in sting operations against officials allegedly accepting bribes. Under the prescribed procedure, the investigating officer will forward the reimbursement proposal to the concerned Range In-charge—Inspector General, Deputy Inspector General or Superintendent of Police—for further processing.

A committee at Vigilance Headquarters will take the final decision on reimbursement on merit. It will comprise an Additional Director General of Police/Inspector General of the State Vigilance & Anti-Corruption Bureau as chairman, besides a Deputy Inspector General and a District Attorney/Deputy District Attorney as members.

Once the committee approves the proposal, the complainant will have to furnish an affidavit undertaking that the trap money released by the court after completion of criminal proceedings will subsequently be deposited into the revolving fund. After submission of the undertaking, the approved amount will be transferred to the complainant’s bank account.

The government has also built financial controls into the system. The revolving fund will be replenished once 70 per cent of its corpus has been utilised, while its audit will be carried out by the Principal Accountant General (Audit), Haryana.
