Chandigarh, 16.08.26-: Maharshi Dayanand Public School, MDAV Bhavan, Daria, Chandigarh, celebrated the 80th Independence Day with great patriotic fervour, enthusiasm and joy. The occasion also marked the grand launch of the school’s Silver Jubilee celebrations.

The Chief Guest of the function was Dr. Sarita Mehta, renowned artist, poetess, historian and linguist. Bimla Dubey, Councillor, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh, and Anil Dubey, former Deputy Mayor, Chandigarh, were present as Special Guests. All three guests were warmly welcomed and felicitated by the school fraternity with saplings.

The programme commenced with the flag hoisting, followed by the National Anthem. Thereafter, students and staff collectively recited the Gayatri Mantra and presented Vande Mataram. An introduction to the school was presented, and Principal Dr. Vinod Kumar Sharma honoured the distinguished guests.

The function was attended by several eminent personalities, including Shanshak Dubey, J. P. Rana, Vinay Master and Om Prakash Yadav.The cultural programme witnessed enthusiastic participation by the students, who presented patriotic songs, captivating dances and impressive theatrical performances, leaving the audience deeply moved.

Dr. Sarita Mehta encouraged the students to understand the significance of freedom and actively contribute to nation-building.Bimla Dubey, Councillor, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh, congratulated the management, staff and students on the school’s glorious 25-year journey. She said that the integration of values and patriotism with education plays an important role in strengthening society.

Anil Dubey, former Deputy Mayor, Chandigarh, appreciated the progress of the school and motivated the students to move ahead in life with hard work, discipline and honesty. He extended his best wishes for the successful and memorable celebration of the school’s Silver Jubilee year. On the occasion, Principal Dr. Vinod Kumar Sharma said that the school’s 25-year journey is not merely a journey of an institution’s achievements, but a glorious saga of the collective contribution of all its students, teachers, parents and well-wishers.

Anju Modgil also extended warm greetings to all the guests on behalf of the school fraternity on the occasion of Independence Day and the Silver Jubilee year.
