Chandigarh, 27.05.2026:Deputy Commissioner Chandigarh Shri Nishant Kumar Yadav, IAS, today addressed a one-day training workshop for surveyors at the Government Museum and Art Gallery, Chandigarh, in preparation for the upcoming door-to-door survey under the Gyan Bharatam Mission. The survey campaign will commence from tomorrow and continue till June 15, 2026.

Earlier, Ms. Isha Kamboj, HCS, Director, Government Museum and Art Gallery, Chandigarh, briefed the surveyors about the objectives, significance and implementation strategy of the mission. The training session focused on household survey methodology, data collection procedures and the role of surveyors in identifying and documenting manuscripts under the nationwide initiative.

The Gyan Bharatam Mission is a flagship initiative of the Government of India aimed at digitising, documenting and conserving the country’s rich manuscript heritage. The initiative seeks to preserve invaluable knowledge traditions and historical manuscripts through systematic documentation and public participation.
