CHANDIGARH, 19.05.26-‘International Nurses Week’ was celebrated in PGIMER, Chandigarh by Department of Nursing from 12th May to 18th May 2026. The theme for this year is “Our Nurses. Our Future. Empowered Nurses Save Lives”. Week long activities started with celebration of ‘International Nurses Day’ on 12th May, 2026. Prof. Vivek Lal, Director PGIMER, Chandigarh graced the occasion as Chief Guest and Guest of Honour was Additional Prof. Dr. Pankaj Arora from Department of Hospital Administration. On 13th May, Health talks were organized in New OPD on different topics. Blood Donation Camp was also organized on the same day. Approx. 80 nursing officials donated blood. On 15th May, Symposium on the theme “Our Nurses. Our Future. Empowered Nurses Save Lives” was organized. Prof. Ashok Kumar graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Speakers enlightened the audience regarding different aspects of theme. Valedictory function was organized at APC, Auditorium, PGIMER, Chandigarh on 18th May 2026. The Chief Guest for the function was Prof. Sanjeev Handa, Sub Dean, (Academics) & Head Department of Dermatology. The Guest of Honour was Prof. Ashok Kumar, Medical Superintendent and Head, Department of Hospital Administration. The welcome address along with report of ‘International Nurses Week’ was delivered by JASPAL KAUR Chief Nursing Officer (Officiating). As token of appreciation mementos were presented to nursing officials who participated in week long activities of ‘International Nurses Week’. ‘International Nurses Week’ concluded with Valedictory function.
