Chandigarh, 24.02.26- :In a proud moment for the City Beautiful, the Hon’ble Mayor of Chandigarh, Sh. Saurabh Joshi, felicitated Dr. Sagar Preet Hooda, IPS, DGP, UT Chandigarh, on being conferred the prestigious President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service — one of the highest honours in Indian policing.

Dr. Hooda received the distinguished medal from the Hon’ble Union Home Minister, Shri Amit Shah ji, during the 79th Raising Day celebrations of the Delhi Police in New Delhi.

On the occasion, Mayor Saurabh Joshi congratulated Dr. Hooda for his exemplary leadership, integrity, and outstanding service to the nation. He stated that this recognition brings immense pride not only to Chandigarh Police but to every citizen of Chandigarh.

The Mayor Joshi also expressed his sincere gratitude to the Hon’ble Union Home Minister, Shri Amit Shah ji, for recognising and honouring distinguished officers who uphold the highest standards of dedication and public service. MCC conducts early morning anti-encroachment drive in Sector 20; 20 Ice-Cream rehris seized

Chandigarh, February 24:- In a continued effort to keep city roads and public spaces free from encroachments, the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh conducted an early morning anti-encroachment drive in Sector 20 today.

During the drive, the enforcement team seized 20 unauthorized ice-cream rehris found operating in violation of municipal norms and obstructing pedestrian pathways and public areas.

The action was undertaken to ensure smooth movement of traffic, maintain cleanliness, and uphold civic discipline in the city. MCC reiterated its commitment to regular monitoring and strict enforcement against illegal encroachments.

The Municipal Corporation has appealed to all vendors to operate only at designated vending zones and adhere strictly to the rules and regulations laid down by the civic body, failing which strict action will continue to be taken.
