Jalandhar, 21.01.26-; Three students from Lovely Professional University (LPU) have been selected to participate in the 77th National Republic Day celebrations to be held on January 26, 2026, at Kartavya Path, New Delhi. The prestigious parade this year will commemorate 150 Years of Vande Mataram, highlighting India’s rich legacy of patriotism and national unity.
The selected cadets including, Cadet Amod Kumar (BTech CSE, 2nd year), Cadet Saksham Sharma (BTech CSE, 2nd year), and Cadet Shubhang Jaiman (BTech CSE, 3rd year) will have the rare honour of saluting the unfurled Tricolour before the nation’s highest dignitaries. The celebrations will be graced by the Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Draupadi Murmu, Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, and international Chief Guests, President of the European Council Mr. Antonio Costa and President of the European Commission Ms. Ursula von der Leyen.
Expressing pride in the students’ achievement, Col. Dr. Rashmi Mittal, Pro Chancellor of LPU, stated, “Being selected to represent the nation at the Republic Day Parade is among the highest honours for any young citizen, and the continued presence of LPU students over the years reflects the depth of character and excellence the university seeks to cultivate. This distinction is a demonstration to the rigorous academic environment, disciplined training, and emphasis on leadership and nation building, through which LPU prepares students to shoulder responsibilities of national significance.”
The cadets were selected based on their overall performance, cultural awareness, participation in debates on social issues, and their ability to portray the cultural ethos of their respective states. In recognition of their national service, they will also receive prestigious testimonials from the Hon’ble President of India. With over one lakh spectators present at Kartavya Path and millions more will watch the live telecast across India and the world, the participation of LPU students will stand as a proud symbol of youth excellence and the university’s contribution to nation building on this historic occasion.
