CHANDIGARH, 27.12.25-The President of Residents Welfare Association, MHC Sector-13 Chandigarh, Colonel Gursewak Singh (War Veteran), has written to Mr Manish Tewari, Member of Parliament for Chandigarh, highlighting shortcomings in the CCTV cameras project's implementation by MC Chandigarh.

While thanking the MP for sanctioning CCTV cameras from his MPLAD funds, Colonel Singh noted that the police are unable to utilize the cameras to investigate recent theft and accident cases due to:
1. Lack of monitors/displays
2. Uncovered main entry points
3. Missing camera location details despite requests

To enhance the project's effectiveness, Colonel Singh proposed that additional MPLADS funds be sanctioned to provide monitors/displays and install cameras covering all five main entry/exit points of MHC.

Copies of the letter were forwarded to:
- The Commissioner, MC Chandigarh, requesting involvement of local police in camera placement and RWA coordination
- The SHO, Manimajra Sector-13 Police Station, requesting action to address the recent surge in MHC theft cases.
