Government focusing on quality education along with developing basic infrastructure in state

  • Rs. 94.46 crore sanctioned for Rajiv Gandhi Day-Boarding Schools

SHIMLA,14th December, 2025-The education sector in the state is witnessing a transformative phase under the leadership of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu. The State Government is implementing initiatives that prioritise not only education but also the overall development of children. To ensure equitable access to quality education, the government is strengthening the basic educational infrastructure in the State. In this direction, the Rajiv Gandhi Day-Boarding Schools are set to become a milestone.

Rajiv Gandhi Day-Boarding Schools equipped with state of the art facilities are being established in every Assembly constituency of the state. These schools will play a vital role in ensuring the holistic development of children living in rural areas. At present, 42 locations/schools across the state have been identified for establishing Rajiv Gandhi Day-Boarding Schools, for which a sum of Rs. 94.46 crore has been released.

These schools will provide children from rural backgrounds with access to quality education as well as improved sports infrastructure to nurture their sporting talents. The Chief Minister envisions preparing children for future competitive challenges and these schools will serve as a cornerstone in fulfilling that vision.

Rajiv Gandhi Day-Boarding Schools are being established in
Jaisinghpur, Palampur, Nagrota Bagwan, Fatehpur, Jawalamukhi, Shahpur, Indora, Dehra and Dharamshala of Kangra district, Hatwar of Bilaspur, Bhattiyat, Banikhet and Kilar of Chamba, Amlehar, Kohdra, Karha, Chamiyana Khas and Hamirpur of Hamirpur district, Piradi Mohal of Kullu, Urni and Reckong Peo of Kinnaur, Keylong, Kaza and Darcha of Lahaul-Spiti, Sarkaghat and Jogindernagar of Mandi, Theog, Sunni and Saraswati Nagar of Shimla, Sataun of Sirmour, Amb, Bangana, Sanghnai and Badehra of Una and Kalyanpur, Mamlig, Darlaghat, Kunihar, Arki, and Kandaghat of Solan district.

In all the five Assembly constituencies of Hamirpur district, the construction of these schools is underway. Construction is progressing rapidly in Karha village of Bhoranj Assembly constituency and Amlehar village of Nadaun constituency. At Amlehar, the primary wing of the new Day-Boarding School will begin functioning from the next academic session.

In district Bilaspur, Rajiv Senior Secondary School Hatwar is being converted into Rajiv Gandhi Day-Boarding School. For this purpose, 25 bigha land has been transferred to the Education Department, and Rs. 3.50 crore has been released to HIMUDA for construction purpose.

Construction of Rajiv Gandhi Day-Boarding Schools is progressing in other Assembly constituencies as well. For parents, it is a matter of satisfaction that their children will receive not only better education but also a platform to develop their multifaceted talents.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Thakur |Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the focus of the state government remains on providing modern and quality education that emphasises values, environmental awareness and physical education for the all-round development of students. With the innovative efforts of present state government Himachal Pradesh is achieving remarkable success in education at the national level and is emerging as a model for the entire country.

डिजिटल नवाचारों से प्रदेश सरकार ने जनसेवाओं को बनाया सहज ओर सुगम: गोकुल बुटेल

मुख्यमंत्री के प्रधान सलाहकार (नवाचार, डिजिटल तकनीक एवं गवर्नेंस) गोकुल बुटेल ने कहा कि राज्य सरकार प्रदेशवासियों को सुगम सुविधाएं प्रदान करने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध है और इस दिशा में नवाचार एवं डिजिटल तकनीक का समुचित उपयोग सुनिश्चित बनाया जा रहा है। गोकुल बुटेल आज चण्डीगढ़ में आयोजित 62वें सूद मिलन दिवस के अवसर पर सूद सभा चण्डीगढ़ द्वारा आयोजित कार्यक्रम को सम्बोधित कर रहे थे।
गोकुल बुटेल ने जरूरतमंदों व विधवाओं को नियमित वित्तीय सहायता प्रदान करने, छात्रों को शिक्षण सामग्री उपलब्ध करवाने, स्वास्थ्य लाभ लेने आए लोगों की सहायता जैसे पुनीत कार्य के लिए सभा के प्रयासों की सराहना की। वर्ष 1959 से सूद सभा मानव कल्याण गतिविधियों के लिए तत्परता से कार्य कर रही है।
प्रधान सलाहकार ने कहा कि हिमाचल प्रदेश में लोगों की सुविधा के लिए आवश्यक कार्यों को सुलभ बनाने एवं लोगों का समय बचाने के लिए डिजिटल सेवाएं आरम्भ की गई हैं। प्रदेशवासियों को अधिकांश सेवाएं ऑनलाइन उपलब्ध हो रही हैं और वे अपने अधिकतर आवश्यक कार्य घर से ही कर रहे हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि प्रदेश में अब लोगों को लर्नर ड्राईविंग लाइसेंस बनाने के लिए कार्यालय के चक्कर नहीं लगाने पड़ते, यह कार्य आसानी से ऑनलाईन माध्यम से हो रहा है।
गोकुल बुटेल ने कहा कि लोगों की सुविधा के लिए हिमाचल प्रदेश में सरकारी कार्य में डिजिटाइजेशन और ई-फाइलिंग प्रणाली को बढ़ावा दिया जा रहा है। हिमाचल प्रदेश में कागज रहित पंजीकरण प्रणाली ‘माई डीड’ आरम्भ की गई है। उन्होंने कहा कि देश में हिमाचल प्रदेश ऐसा पहला राज्य बना है जहां ‘माई डीड’ कार्यान्वित की गई है। माई डीड पोर्टल से लोगों को एक क्लिक पर अनेक सुविधाएं प्राप्त हो रही हैं।
उन्होंने इस अवसर पर सूद सभा चण्डीगढ़ को एक लाख रुपए प्रदान करने की घोषणा की।
गोकुल बुटेल ने इस अवसर पर हिमाचल प्रदेश सरकार द्वारा राज्य की आर्थिक स्थिति को सुधारने के लिए किए जा रहे प्रयासों की भी विस्तृत जानकारी दी।
उन्होंने कहा कि उनका परिवार विगत कई वर्षों से समाज सेवा के कार्य में संलग्न है। उनके दादा स्व. कन्हैया लाल बुटेल द्वारा वर्ष 1962 में हिमाचल प्रदेश के पहला महिला चौरिटेबल कॉलेज जिला कांगड़ा के पालमपुर में स्थापित किया गया।
इस अवसर पर सूद सभा चण्डीगढ़ के अध्यक्ष अश्वनी सूद, महासचिव सुधीर सूद, वित्त सचिव खुशविन्द्र सूद, संरक्षक वी.के. सूद, अश्वनी डोगर, शशि सूद, उमेश सूद, संयुक्त सचिव वित्त लोकेश सूद अन्य पदाधिकारी, कार्यकारणी समिति के सदस्य और बड़ी संख्या में सूद सभा के सदस्य उपस्थित थे।

CM fulfils promise made to children

  • Children watched a live cricket match at Dharamshala Stadium

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu once again demonstrated his compassionate and sensitive leadership by fulfilling a promise made to underprivileged children. As many as 160 children residing in slum settlements and studying at Tong Len School, Sarah area of Dharamshala, were today given the opportunity to watch the India-South Africa T20 International cricket match live at the stadium.

This special gesture was in keeping with the assurance and promise made by the Chief Minister during his recent visit to Dharamshala. For these children, who come from families with extremely limited means, watching an international cricket match from the stands of the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Stadium was nothing short of a dream come true.

The Chief Minister’s initiative brought smiles to the children’s faces. Their excitement, enthusiasm and joy were clearly visible throughout the match, making the experience truly memorable for them.

Expressing their gratitude to the Chief Minister, the children thanked him for keeping his promise and said that it was the first time they had witnessed such a grand sporting event up close was an experience they would cherish for a lifetime. The school management and parents also lauded the Chief Minister’s humane step and said that such initiatives instill the confidence among children from marginalized sections and inspire them to aspire for a better future.

They said that this was the first occasion on which children from Tong Len School had watched an international-level cricket match at the Dharamshala stadium and they are extremely thankful to the Chief Minister for providing such a wonderful opportunity to their children.
