Chandigarh, 21.11.2025 — As part of the ongoing National Library Week–cum–Children’s Day Celebrations, T.S. Central State Library, Sector 17, Chandigarh, organised Hasya Kavi Sammelan and Poster Making Competitions exclusively for government school children of the tricity.
Eminent writer, Mr. Prem Vij, was the special guest on the occasion who encouraged the students and praised the library for organising meaningful and enriching activities for young learners.
A total of 46 students from various government schools participated in the Hasya Kavi Sammelan, presenting humorous and lively poems that entertained the audience. The competition was judged by Dr. Narinder Shukla, renowned humour poet, and Dr. Rekha Mittal, acclaimed author and poet, who commended the creativity, wit, and confidence exhibited by the participants.
The Poster Making Competition saw an enthusiastic participation of 75 students. The entries reflected strong messages, creativity, and artistic expression. The competition was judged by Ms. Anjali Aggarwal and Mr. Anand Sharma, well-known artists and faculty members from the Government College of Art, Chandigarh, who appreciated the students’ originality, technique, and thematic interpretation.
The events were coordinated under the guidance of Dr. Neeza Singh, Librarian, with support from Mrs. Neelam Bansal, Library Incharge.
T.S. Central State Library continues to host interactive programmes throughout the week as part of the National Library Week and Children’s Day celebrations.
