Chandigarh, 11 November: The Startup Cell of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, in collaboration with the Postgraduate Department of Commerce, under the aegis of the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), organised an insightful session titled ‘Idea to Impact: Why Start-ups Soar or Sink’. The event aimed to familiarise students with the key factors that determine the success or failure of startups and to inspire them to transform innovative ideas into impactful ventures.

The session, attended by 143 students, was conducted by Dr. Charu Narang Thakur, Managing Director, RC Endeavour Services Pvt. Ltd., who drew from her extensive professional experience to shed light on the intricate dynamics of the startup ecosystem. Illustrating with real-world examples from leading startups such as Zepto, Paytm, Urban Company, and Zerodha, Dr. Thakur elaborated on the “spectrum of success to non-success” and emphasised that the foundation of every thriving startup rests on three critical stages- Foundation, Execution, and Growth. The interactive and engaging session offered valuable insights into building sustainable ventures, leaving the audience inspired and better prepared to navigate the entrepreneurial journey.

Officiating Principal Ms. Neena Sharma appreciated the efforts of the Startup Cell and the Department of Commerce for organising a thought-provoking session. She encouraged students to harness their creativity, develop problem-solving mindsets, and contribute meaningfully to India’s growing innovation ecosystem.
