Chandigarh, October 10:Haryana’s Energy, Transport and Labour Minister Anil Vij today responded sharply to Congress leader Randeep Surjewala’s comments on the shortage of teachers in the state, asserting that recruitments are actively underway.
Speaking to the media persons, Sh. Vij questioned Surjewala’s record during the Congress government, asking, “What did he or his party do to uplift education when they were in power?” He added that “Under the BJP government, jobs are given without recommendation slips or bribes, but during the Congress regime, jobs were sold openly. At least Surjewala has no moral right to speak on this issue.”

Responding to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s remark that the BJP’s ideology has become a curse for the weaker sections, Minister Vij said that “Our party gives equal rights and opportunities to people of every religion, caste, class and region to progress. I don’t understand which ideology Mr. Kharge is referring to.”
Earlier in the day, Energy and Transport Minister Anil Vij participated in a tree plantation drive organized by a leading daily at Gandhi Ground, Ambala Cantonment. During the event, Sh. Vij planted a sapling and appealed to everyone to actively participate in plantation drives to make the environment cleaner and greener.
Prominent participants included BJP leader Kapil Vij, Central Phoenix Club Chairman Shailendra Khanna, and Municipal Council Vice President Lalita Prasad. Councillors Pramod Lucky, Parmjeet Singh, Sunil, Dr. Dinesh, and several others were also present.

Chandigarh, October 10: Haryana’s Energy, Transport, and Labour Minister, Sh. Anil Vij, has said that a high-level meeting of Transport Department officers will soon be convened at the Chandigarh headquarters. The focus of the meeting will be to address issues related to the non-compliance of private bus operators in providing services under the Free Bus Pass Scheme.
While interacting with media persons following the District Grievance Redressal Committee meeting held in Kaithal today, Sh.Vij said that some private bus operators have even approached the courts regarding the scheme. “We will conduct a comprehensive review of the rules and terms that were in place at the time the passes were issued. A dedicated meeting will be held soon to resolve these issues,” he said.
Responding to questions about officials allegedly failing to address public grievances effectively, the Minister firmly stated that “My name is Anil Vij, and I do not spare those who do wrong.”
When asked about his earlier comments comparing leadership to ‘Gabbar’ (a popular cultural reference), he clarified that “Two things cannot exist simultaneously—either someone is Gabbar, or he is not. But if someone is Gabbar, then no one can ignore what he says.”
Regarding the functioning of the CM Window, Sh.Vij affirmed that the state government is actively listening to complaints and ensuring that they are addressed promptly.
On today’s grievance committee proceedings, Sh.Vij reported that all complaints brought forward during the meeting in Kaithal were heard and resolved. “Action has been ordered on various complaints, and in certain cases, officials have been instructed to present progress reports in the next meeting,” he added.

Chandigarh, October 10 – Haryana’s Energy, Transport and Labour Minister Sh. Anil Vij has taken serious note of a complaint filed by Balwinder Singh, a resident of Hemumajra village in Kaithal, regarding cancellation of a solar connection and demand for money. The Minister has ordered the suspension of the concerned SDO and registration of an FIR. He also directed the formation of a committee under the chairmanship of the Additional Deputy Commissioner to investigate the matter and submit a detailed report.
Further, Sh. Vij directed Superintendent of Police, Kaithal to immediately dismantle all illegal liquor points and unauthorised settlements (khurds) in the district. He asserted that “In Anil Vij’s Darbar, there are no repeated hearings – justice is delivered. Negligence and corruption in work will not be tolerated under any circumstances.”
*19 Complaints redressed at District Grievance Committee Meeting*
Sh. Anil Vij chaired the District Grievance Redressal Committee meeting held at RKSD College Auditorium, Kaithal, where he redressed 19 complaints and issued strict orders to officers for prompt redressal. He emphasized that all decisions taken during grievance meetings must be implemented in letter and spirit, ensuring relief for the public.
In multiple cases, Minister Vij ordered stringent action against erring officers. FIRs were instructed to be filed against SDOs, finance companies, and others involved in five separate complaints. In two matters, he ordered formation of committees comprising committee members and officers to investigate and submit reports. In another case, the Deputy Commissioner was instructed to conduct a detailed probe.

Manjeet Singh (Sewan Gate), In a case of alleged fraud involving sending his daughter abroad, the Minister instructed SP to register the FIR in Kaithal instead of Chandigarh. Kusum (Kasan), Rs. 5,600 under MGNREGA allegedly deducted from her bank account. Bajaj Finance Ltd. found at fault. Despite prior directions by DC Preeti to file an FIR, police did not act. Minister ordered that identify and act against the police official responsible for non-compliance and register FIR against Bajaj Finance as well.
Similarly, In Santosh (Dhanouri) case, Complaint regarding canal lining discrepancy. Minister ordered swift action by the concerned department. Laxmi Chand (Cheeka) case, alleged false FIR against him and inaction on his counter-complaint. Police said it involved cryptocurrency. Minister directed consultation with District Attorney for next steps. Likewise, Sandhya (Kaithal) case, Unknown woman’s name allegedly added to her Family ID, and the woman was receiving ration benefits. Officials cited a technical error, which has now been rectified. In this matter Sh. Vij ordered that thorough investigation, recovery from the beneficiary, and filing of an FIR.
While another case of Teeka Ram (Kailram), alleged that a raw canal was falsely marked as lined in official records. Minister formed a committee led by SDM Kalayat and members Kapil Dixit and Rajeev Rajput for investigation. In Shanti Devi (Batta) case, complaint regarding non-release of the third installment under Housing Scheme. CEO Zila Parishad informed that fund request has been sent to headquarters, installment will be released upon fund allocation. Similarly, Santosh (Aandhli) case, alleged she was not provided work under MGNREGA. Officials stated she was already given 33 days of work, and would be assigned more days as per the annual quota of 100 days.
Similarly, Dhanouri students complained that government passes were not being accepted in cooperative buses. Minister said the matter would be taken up at the state level, and a decision would soon be made to provide relief. He also instructed GM Roadways to operate an additional bus on Tohana-Kaithal route based on requests from girl students. Same as in Birbal (Ramgarh Pandwa) case, complaint regarding ineligibility under PM Awas Yojana. Minister directed written clarification to the complainant. Shopkeepers on Hostel Road complained about broken sewage lines not being repaired after electric poles were installed. Minister ordered Executive Engineer, Power Department, to immediately close the pits and repair pipelines. While Ramesh Kumar (Bakal) case, complaint about compensation for damaged wheat crop. Minister directed action as per court orders.Nauch village residents’ complaint regarding leaking water supply lines was closed after officials reported the issue had been resolved.
Rajpal Arya (Kyorak) Complaint regarding permission and subsidy for net house repair. Minister directed DC to investigate and take necessary action. He also warned the District Horticulture Officer regarding conduct. Neetu Maun (Rishi Nagar): Complaint regarding no arrest in her brother’s 2020 murder case. Minister ordered that Police to take action against the suspect who fled abroad, If required, cancel his passport, coordinate with relevant authorities to bring him back and proceed with legal action and Submit a report in the next meeting.“The medical report confirms strangulation. Someone committed the murder — police must find the culprit and arrest him, he said.”
The meeting was attended by BJP District President Jyoti Saini, senior BJP leaders Ashok Gurjar, Manish Kathwad, Suresh Sandhu, Shakti Sauda, Sanjay Saini, Sangeeta, Ayush Garg, Praveen Prajapati, Kapil Dixit, Gopal Saini, Sushil Panchal and others. From the district administration, present were Deputy Commissioner Preeti, SP Upasana, ADC and CEO Zila Parishad Suresh Rawish, DMC Kapil Kumar, RTA Girish Kumar, MD Sugar Mill Krishna Kumar, EO HSVP Vakil Ahmed, and all three SDMs – Ajay Singh, Ajay Hooda, and Captain Parmesh Singh, along with other administrative officers and members of the District Grievance Redressal Committee.
