Chandigarh, October 9: While efforts are underway to eradicate the caste system in the country, two recent incidents have raised serious concerns among the Scheduled Caste community.
Paramjit Singh Kainth, Punjab State Vice President of the Scheduled Caste Morcha of the Bharatiya Janata Party, said, "A direct attempt is being made to disrupt peace and public order by exploiting caste and communal sentiments. These two tragic incidents demonstrate that a highly educated judge and a senior official belonging to the Scheduled Caste community have been treated in a manner that is unacceptable in a civilized society. These tragic and heartbreaking incidents are a disgrace to humanity." Bharatiya Janata Party leader Sardar Kainth said, "Illegal and objectionable content is being circulated on social media targeting the Honorable Chief Justice of India, B.R. Gavai, to send a false message to society, which is highly condemnable. Such incidents cannot even imagine a good society. Such incidents will only breed hatred and tension in society, which is dangerous for a developed India."
Sardar Kainth stated that "Dalit communities are still deprived of the equality guaranteed by the Constitution. Dr. B.R. Ambedkar's dream remains unfulfilled."
He further stated that regarding the suicide of Y. Puran Kumar, a senior IPS officer and Additional Director General of Police in the Haryana government, he shared his experiences of harassment and discrimination throughout his career, writing that he was forced to commit suicide due to the constant mental and administrative pressure exerted by his IPS and IAS officer colleagues. This is highly condemnable. Paramjit Kainth, a Bharatiya Janata Party leader who has championed the interests of the Scheduled Caste community, said that the Central Government and the Haryana Government should take cognizance of this and ensure justice. The anger and resentment brewing within the Scheduled Caste community must be calmed. BJP leader Paramjit Kainth further stated, "Even after 79 years of independence, members of the Scheduled Castes continue to face humiliation. Whether it's the shoe-throwing incident at the Chief Justice of India or the suicide of senior IPS officer Y. Puran Kumar, both reflect the same deep-seated prejudice. He always spoke out against discrimination and neglect and ultimately paid the price with his life." Paramjit Singh Kainth, a Bharatiya Janata Party leader who champions the cause of the Scheduled Caste community, appealed to the Chairman of the National Commission for Scheduled Castes to take immediate cognizance of such incidents and take action to ensure justice for the victims.
