Mahendergarh-The Central University of Haryana (CUH) made a remarkable debut in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2026, securing a position in the 1001–1200 global band and ranking 44th at the national level among 128 Indian universities. Vice Chancellor Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar congratulates the university faculty and the students for the achievement.

The CUH is ranked first in Haryana and 781 in the global quality research. This is the first time the CUH has participated in the global ranking and achieved a historic milestone in its academic journey. The recognition underscores CUH’s growing global footprint and commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and societal impact.

Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, the Vice-Chancellor of the university, said, “It is a moment of great pride that CUH has made its mark in THE World University Rankings in its very first attempt. This achievement reflects our consistent efforts toward academic excellence, impactful research, and international visibility. We will continue to strengthen our global collaborations and strive to reach even greater heights.

Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Pawan Kumar Sharma said, “The University ranked 781 globally in quality of research parameter, reflecting our strategic focus on research and innovation. This is particularly significant considering the fact that the practical rollout of Ph. D. programmes could take place only after the COVID pandemic. The recognition inspires us to continue our pursuit of excellence and make CUH a globally recognised centre of higher learning.”

The faculty members of CUH, while being jubilant, credited the achievement to the proactive visionary leadership of the Vice-Chancellor. The university has achieved many milestones since he took over the office.
