Chandigarh, August 25:-In a decisive move to protect public land and maintain civic order, the Engineering Wing of the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh today carried out a successful anti-encroachment removal drive at Mandir land adjoining Khasra No. 60, Village Mauli Jagran.
Acting on the directions of the Municipal Commissioner, Sh. Amit Kumar, IAS, the operation was conducted smoothly and efficiently, targeting unauthorized constructions raised on the earmarked land. The encroachment, carried out by Sh. Krishan Kumar Mishra, comprised tin shed structures, including multiple rooms and toilet blocks, spread over an approximate area of 10,000 square feet.
The entire unauthorized structure was demolished as part of the drive, and the encroached land was taken into possession by MCC. The removal operation was executed with the support of relevant enforcement and field staff, ensuring strict adherence to safety and administrative protocols.
MCC remains committed to safeguarding public land and taking firm action against any form of unauthorized occupation. The corporation has reiterated that encroachments on government or community land will not be tolerated, and strict action will be taken against violators in accordance with the law.
The Commissioner said that this action was part of MCC’s broader efforts to ensure orderly urban development and uphold the rule of law in the city. He urged citizens to refrain from illegal encroachments and cooperate with civic authorities in maintaining the city’s infrastructure and resources.
